What’s not to love about a day full of pampering followed by brunch? That’s why I was so excited that the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society invited me to a fabulous outing filled with decadent bites, facials, massages, and mimosas, oh my!!! 🙂 Talk about my ideal day!! The get-together getaway was called “Bloggers & Bubbles” and featured a spa experience compliments of L’Occitane along with a taste of kitchen-inspired cuisine courtesy of South Main Kitchen.
Pampered en Provence
First up on the adventure was pampering at L’Occitane en Provence located in Alpharetta at the Avalon shopping pavilion. I absolutely love L’Occitane and have hosted and attended many events at their boutiques in the past. Plus, I use their products all the time and seriously cannot get enough. I usually go to the Buckhead store and absolutely adored one of the employees there, Kyle. Well… guess what! It just so happens that Kyle now works at the Avalon location! It was such a pleasant surprise to see him, and it made my experience that much more memorable!
Kyle and the lovelies at L’Occitane treated us to an oh-so-indulgent spa day at the store, where we received heavenly hand and back massages, fabulous facials, and yummy mimosas! I didn’t get a facial [sad face], but the ladies that did could not stop gushing over how radiant and smooth their skin was afterwards! Trust me when I tell ya that I’ve experienced more than my fair share of facials at L’Occitane so I’m very familiar with the ravings after you’ve had one. Lucky for me I got to indulge in a heavenly hand and back massage which might explain why I missed out on the facial, because time tends to get away from you when there’s a massage involved, am I right? 😉
What I love most about L’Occitane is their products treat your skin to a spa-quality experience without ever leaving your home. And, their products also contain all-natural organic ingredients sourced from the Mediterranean region. Each ingredient is formulated following strict tradition which makes all the difference in quality.
Downtown Delicious
The second portion of this fabulous day was all about the food. Honestly, I think if I could brunch everyday, I would! For our brunch experience we headed on down to South Main Kitchen which is literally a hop/skip from L’Occitane in Alpharetta’s historic downtown district. SMK is super charming with an open-kitchen concept, a rooftop bar, and communal tables. The perfect atmosphere for our day of double indulgence!
As for the food, the dishes are kitchen-inspired with an emphasis on ingredients. We got to try a variety of eats, and this place takes the crown for creative dishes. The appetizers served were Parmesan Gnocchi as well as delicious Brussel Sprouts with feta, bacon, and a ginger and blood orange vinaigrette. I wish brussels were always served like this!! We then had a Kale and Brussel sprout Salad with almonds, pecorino, dried cranberries, and the same dressing that was on the other brussels. The other salad was Quinoa with arugula, feta, carrot, pumpkin seed, red onion, red pepper, and a yummy herbed vinaigrette. These were tasty, fresh twists on greens!
Then, of course, the entrees. There were the Short Rib Crepes which were just as interesting as they sound, featuring a rosemary pan sauce, caramelized onion, bacon, spinach, red bell pepper, goat cheese, and pickled jalapenos. If you’ve never had a savory crepe, you’re missing out! There was also a Garden Omelette with a red pepper cream sauce as well as good ‘ole Biscuits and Gravy. You can never go wrong with that Southern staple, and I definitely enjoyed getting to sink my teeth into a fluffy biscuit!
Wishing the day would never end
I’m still buzzing from the Bloggers & Bubbles event, which I’m sure you can see why now! A fabulous, rejuvenating spa experience at L’Occitane was an awesome way to start the day, then finishing things off with a beyond-delicious meal at South Main Kitchen was the cherry on top.
I had so much fun with all my fellow foodie babes!!! Huge hugs to Chef Melissa of the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society who set everything up. Thank you sooo much for inviting me! And a special thanks also goes to the sponsors, Stirrings, Scout & Molly’s of Avalon, and South Main Kitchen for also making the experience such as success! I can’t wait for our next get-together getaway. 😉
Hey, if you’re ever in need of a little lot of pampering just head on over to L’Occitane at the Avalon shops at 2200 Old Milton Pkwy #3040 in Alpharetta, GA. And be sure to make your way down to South Main Kitchen at 9 S Main St in Alpharetta, GA for some kickin’ kitchen cuisine.
