Well, folks… I have to say, Kurios sent our imaginations running wild! It was a fabulous way to spend an evening, needless to say. There’s nothing quite like getting to experience a show firsthand, seeing the illusions at work and feeling the emotions of the storyline… and to witness a Cirque du Soleil show, nonetheless! These performers really know how to put on an amazing show, and their latest endeavor Kurios had my attention at full-on uh-mazement!

Kurios was about a “Seeker” who discovers that you can glimpse into alternate, marvelous worlds that lie just beneath the surface… past what the eye can see, if you will. The Seeker realizes that if you simply close your eyes, you can transport into a world full of your biggest dreams and craziest ideas.
Peak your curiosity, yet? Well, you can read a bit more of the backstory of Kurios on my preview post. There aren’t words to explain how well the show was executed. We truly felt like we were also transported into this magical world full of beautiful illusions. To match our wonder, the show was also pretty funny, which was a nice balance to the bits of poetry and otherworldly details. The whimsy and innocence made this a fabulous show for a family outing.
And oh — the characters! The characters are what made this show even more out-of-this-world. The cast included 46 artists from 15 different countries, and the artist who plays the character named Mini Lini, Antanina Satsura, is one of the smallest people in the world! She is only 3.2 feet tall and weighs just 39 pounds! Contrasting to the mechanical hand prop that weighs 750 pounds and stretches 15 by 6.8 feet, you can imagine how crazy this set looked to the audience! It was a true treat and nice retreat from the “real world.” 😉
Words can’t explain just how fascinating Kurios is… You have to see this amazing show for yourself! If you are looking for an escape to a magical world for a little while, go see Kurios. It’s a mystical masterpiece that’ll leave you smiling in wonderment!
Cirque du Soleil Kurios is in Atlanta from now until May 8 for a limited engagement under the blue-and-yellow Big Top at Atlantic Station. Don’t miss a moment of the excitement… Get your tickets today!

I’ve always wanted to attend one of these shows, but it’s been tough trying to squeeze in family outings. I’d love to plan a trip to a Cirque event in a year or two.
