New York, New York: “A city so nice, they named it twice.” Isn’t that the truth! Usually when visiting the Big Apple, most people travel to Times Square and don’t wander past the bright lights and supersized signs. But when we arrived in New York City, we were treated to an enriching experience fit for a diva! And I expect no less when discovering divine destinations with the Travel Divas. Here’s a recap of my getaway to New York City…
The Travel Divas know how to “travel” and they made getting to NYC hassle-free. The “Divas” provided their guests with a comfy motor coach ride from Atlanta to New York. We had an absolute blast the entire ride. And several lucky guests even won prizes along the way! When we arrived to our hotel, the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott, I knew our four-day stay would be one to remember. In the perfect location, travel to our activities was simple, and my room was comfy, contemporary and clean – a definite plus for any travel accommodations!
The Travel Divas set up a host one-of-a-kind activities to keep us moving in the city that never sleeps. We were treated to sightseeing unmatched, giving me the opportunity to see parts of New York I’d never been to before. We got our groove on at the famous Cotton Club, where legendary entertainers such as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Cab Calloway once graced the atmosphere with their talent. But the fun didn’t stop there: We journeyed through the city, dropping by renowned Juniors Cheesecake and Restaurant and even stopping for snaps at The New York Times and “The Bull” on Wall Street.
We also took a tour of Harlem and the historic Apollo Theater, before pit stopping for a bite to eat at some of area’s world famous eateries like Sylvia’s and Harlem Red Rooster. We also had lots of fun at the colorful Coney Island. Other stops on our NYC tour included the World Trade Center and Financial District, Times Square, Empire State Building, Chinatown and Little Italy. We also shopped the Harlem Market as well as Canal Street in Chinatown. And you can’t go to Chinatown without sampling some of the authentic eats, and Wo Hop was definitely on the menu.
One of my favorite parts of my trip was all the shopping, of course! The Divas and I scouted new trends at the famous Macy’s on 34th Street and 5th Avenue, where there were countless floors of shopping – a diva’s dream come true! While I was in Times Square, I felt like a celeb when I was featured on the Revlon billboard jumbo-tron for everyone down below to see! Good thing I always dress to impress. 😉
Another highlight of our NYC trip was a fabulous cruise on the Hudson River. Views included seven bridges and five boroughs, offering a whole new perspective. We got amazing photo ops of the Statue of Liberty, the majestic NYC skyline, and Yankee Stadium. The cruise was the perfect addition to our trip and my photo album! 😉
Our New York journey was definitely one for the books, and I’ve gained a whole new love and appreciation for the bustling, culturally-rich city so many people call home. I can’t wait to embark on another adventure with the Travel Divas; they know just how to spice up my itinerary with fun, food and fashion!
Huge hugs to my #BloggerBoo and fellow Travel Divas Ambassador Kiwi The Beauty for taking on the Big Apple with me. We had an absolute blast! And special thanks to the Travel Divas for making our NYC #Takeover a fabulously unforgettable experience! Traveling to NYC was so much fun, and all of the fun activities the Travel Divas had lined-up made the trip that much more fab! I can’t wait to see what exciting destinations the Travel Divas have next on the agenda!
