Recently I attended a Ladies Night Out event at Philips Arena by the I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation; an organization that raises awareness for women who’ve been affected by hair loss. This is such a worthwhile cause, as over 80 million Americans are affected with this devastating condition.
The I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundaton (IABWF) Ladies Night Out event was in partnership with the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream who hosted the event from their VIP Private Sky Box Suite overlooking the Atlanta Dream as they took on the Washington Mystics in an exciting game that resulted in a solid victory for the “Dream Girls”. Way to go ladies!!!!
I was so excited about attending this event; not only because of the significance of the cause, but also because I’d never been to a WNBA basketball game before and I’ve always “dreamed” of attending one. After this experience you will definitely see me and my girls in the stands in the future, as it’s so important for young girls to see such positive role models in our women.
Annette Whitlock of Multiple Choices LLC, coordinated the event which featured a networking session, give-a-ways, and fabulous swag bags. I had the pleasure of meeting Annette during the Heeling Diabetes Shoenista Auction a few months back, by way of my insatiable appetite for fabulous shoes. 😛 Annette has such a warm and powerful spirit. After successfully winning the bid on a pair of red stilettos, Annette teased my hubby by insisting that he buy me a purse to match my new beauties. Well Annette, I’m happy to announce that there’s been an addition to my bag collection and I have you to thank for it. After speaking with you, my hubby stated that because of your sweet and persuasive nature he felt that if he didn’t comply with your instructions that he would disappoint you and he did NOT want to let you down. 😀
Ladies; take note. Annette is generally available for your requests after 5pm most days, and can be reached at 770-555… 😀
Ok, so after the Heeling Diabetes event, Annette gave me her information with the promise to keep in touch regarding upcoming events; and I gave her my information (and my hubby’s) in case I needed some accessories to go with my purse and shoes. ;-P
Annette, who also works with the I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation, contacted me recently to attend the Ladies Night Out event. I was grateful and humbled by the invite as I definitely have a “hair story” or two (or three) that any woman can relate to. Let’s be honest, we’ve all faced some form of challenge with our hair, and I could only imagine how difficult it must be to lose ones hair completely since we (as women) place so much value on our appearance. The fact is that many women in these situations are left feeling that there are no options for treatment and support for them to regain their confidence to face the world. I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation (a 501 (c) (3) organization) is one of several organizations that recognizes the affects of hair loss and how it has such an impact on a person’s emotions, health and well-being. I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation conducts hair loss awareness events through female empowerment workshops, fashion and beauty shows, and networking events. They provide an important opportunity for women to learn more about the many different types of hair loss, and new treatments that can help many of the more than 80 million Americans who are affected.
During the event I was introduced to Angela Dickinson, President of the IABWF Atlanta Chapter, Kathy Betty, the current owner of the WNBA Atlanta Dream, and Atlanta Dream coach Marynell Meadors. Both Kathy and coach Meadors dropped by to greet the guests after the game. What a great group of extraordinary women who are all doing great things in our community!
Angela Crawford, President of the IABWF Atlanta Chapter, spoke about her involvement with the IABWF organization, their efforts to heighten female hair loss awareness, as well as raising funds for hair loss victims. Because of the significance of this mission, the IABWF has partnered with the Atlanta.
I really had a great time meeting and networking with all the fabulous women at the event as it was truly a night to remember. Before departing we were treated to fabulous swag bags that featured Shea Butter samples by Nicole Williams of Buhter Up. OMG! I absolutely love the peach fragrance! Buhter Up will definitely become a permanent fixture in my go-to stash of beauty essentials.
Congrats to the ladies of the Atlanta Dream for their convincing victory over Washington! Your win was definitely a great cap to this amazing night.
This was such a moving event, and I left feeling encouraged, empowered, and motivated. I want to thank Annette Whitlock of Multiple Choices LLC and Angela Crawford of IABWF for the invite.
I’m also thrilled to announce that I was chosen by both Angela and Annette to become a part of the efforts to help raise awareness for this great endeavor by becoming the Official Blogger for Multiple Choices LLC, and “Facing the World” I Am Beautiful Women’s Foundation. I am truly honored, humbled, and excited, as it is such a blessing to be a voice for this great organization, and I look forward to all that is to come.
As I reflect upon the past several months since I began this amazing journey, I must say that it has definitely been a fabulously rewarding experience. I feel privileged and honored to become a part of such a worthwhile endeavor; and this acknowledgment can only serves as a testament that “dreams” really do come true.
I urge every woman to educate themselves about the effects of hair loss and ways in which they can help those living with this condition. Visit www.iambeautifulfoundation1.com for more information.
