Ok, before we go any further… I have to admit… I absolutely LOVE One Direction!!! (In my best giggly school girl voice) I know, I know, it seems a bit odd for a 30 (ish) woman to be so giddy for a teeny-bopper boy band, let alone even know who One Direction is, but let me tell you that their music is soooo cool! There, I said it… 😀
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let me tell you about a recent prescreening event for the One Direction: This is Us film that I had the honor of hosting a ticket giveaway for. Throngs of mothers and daughters, tweens and teens, all converged at AMC Parkway Pointe 15 in Atlanta to get an exclusive sneak peak of the One Direction bio pic This is Us. I even spotted a few dads who braved the overwhelmingly all-girl crowd with their little One-Directioners. No worries guys, your identities are safe with me. 😉 Guest of the event experienced the red carpet treatment along with fabulous goodie bags, mini makeovers and plenty of photobooth fun! If you have tweens girls (like I do) you’ve probably know EXACTLY who One Direction is. My two girls, like the many hundreds of thousands of 1D fans, have tunes like Kiss You, What Makes You Beautiful, and my favorite Best Song Ever, on endless replay lately. So after my girls heard they were going to the prescreening of This is Us, guess who was crowned Mom of the Year? ;-D Hey, the 1D craze is in full effect, and I can honestly say that after seeing the film I can see why anyone would be drawn to their stories and how they’ve come to be one of the hottest acts in music. This fam-friendly film follows the groups’ charismatic members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, and their many adventures on tour complete with behind the scenes horseplay along with touching stories from their families’ come-along journeys as the boys rise to meteoric stardom. And just as their name suggests, these guys are literally headed in “one direction” and that’s UP!

Huge hugs to Robin Lori for the candid pics and Allied for the gracious invite. If you have a One Direction fan in your midst, I urge you to take them to see this film. And not to worry; I’d consider relinquishing my title as Mom of the Year (at least for the day anyhow). 😉
