With an event is fabulous as Le Dîner en Blanc, it’s almost a crime not to return for round two. Some of you might remember my recap from last year, where I introduced the history of this posh pop-up picnic.
Need a refresher? Le Dîner en Blanc started in Paris 25 years ago; it’s a chicly spontaneous night inviting guests to wear their best white outfits, enjoy divine dishes and assemble in an awesome atmosphere. The catch? The luxe outdoor location is disclosed only minutes before the stylish soiree begins.
No longer a newbie to Atlanta, this year, Le Dîner en Blanc’s second secret appearance took place on Peachtree Street at the Fabulous Fox Theatre and Georgian Terrace Hotel. Peachtree Street was literally blocked off for this all-blanc affair and it’s safe to say that Atlanta would never be the same. I was super excited and ready for another trés chic Parisian night, that is, if it were to be anything like last year.
But even I couldn’t prepare for the awesome experience ahead. I was treated to a VIP view from the Media Lounge, where we were served tasty hors d’voeures, delicious Apothic wine, and the best bubbly around: Moët & Chandon champagne. Amongst great company and chic surroundings, we enjoyed gourmet eats to the soundtrack of fantastic live music, provided by songstress Rebecca Downs and “The Mad Violinist” Ashanti Floyd.
Moët & Chandon showed us a new way to sip our champagne with the introduction of their brand new Moët Ice Impérial. The Ice Impérial was created to be poured over ice without its losing flavor. As a self-proclaimed champagne connoisseur, I was a little skeptical at first, but once I sipped it over ice, I was sold! The fruitiness and fresh taste didn’t fade at all! You can definitely call me a fan; and yes, I will have another glass please! 😉
As I tried new bites and sipped bubbly amongst the company of 2,000 of my closest friends, I knew I had hit the jackpot. The atmosphere was excitingly elegant and the city literally stopped for this white-haute affair. Everyone’s blanc outfits filled the venue in the most tasteful way. Fashionably fun and deliciously delightful, this posh pop-up picnic might have been the highlight of the season for me.
So as we dined, danced, and dazzled well into the night, I couldn’t help but imagine what next year’s Le Dîner en Blanc will bring. Until then…

I learned about this for the first time last year when I was living in Hawaii, when I saw people prepping for it in Honolulu! I vowed to attend one someday, but now that I moved, I wonder if they do it anywhere in this area (Baltimore/DC/Philly). Thanks for reminding me that it’s on my bucket list! 🙂
