Okay, I just couldn’t stay away… The mouth-watering delights from MacarOn Café are just too tasty! So my friends at MacarOn Cafe in NYC sent me another assortment of their heavenly confections, and upon seeing these colorful pastries, I was immediately inspired. This goodie-filled go’round included fabulous flavors like Peanut Butter & Jelly, Choco-Raspberry, Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Coconut, and Raspberry. Not only are these French treats fun to eat, but they’re fun to look at, too! So I decided to embark on my own little taste-inspired Tour de France right here in Atlanta, and I took my macarons with me (as if I would let them out of my sight!).
So, on my ‘Taste of France” tour, I knew I had to stop at the High Museum of Art in Midtown to snap a few pics. I mean, there’s creativity in every corner of this place, and the museums’ backdrop would be the perfect setting for a perfectly crafted confectionery treat! And I knew exactly the art piece to showcase… the striking sculpture, The Shade. Created by French sculptor Auguste Rodin, The Shade is seeped in both French and Atlanta history having been donated by the French government in memory of victims of a plane crash during a museum-sponsored trip in Paris, France. It’s such a moving piece and symbolizes the art community’s strength and endurance.
Once we moved on from the High museum, we headed over to one of my favorite neighborhoods in Atlanta… Buckhead! If you haven’t had the chance to make it over to Paris just yet, not to worry – you can get your French fix right here in the heart of Atlanta! Right on Peachtree you’ll feel like you’re in the City of Lights with our version of the Eiffel Tower, in miniature form of course. The ‘mini’ Eiffel Tower in Buckhead is situated in an oh-so romantic setting surrounded by beautiful buildings with decadent details. I felt like I had been transported right to Paris while noshing on my macarons and feasting my eyes on the fabulous architecture all around. Can you say, Bon Appetit?
For our final France-inspired destination on the tour, the Château Élan Winery and Resort was the perfect ending. Château Élan is an exquisite winery, golf course and hotel all in one, so I was sure to take my time here. With absolutely stunning views of gorgeous greenscapes, the property is a tasteful tip to the grand estates of France. With a glass of ‘MacarOn Moscato’ in hand while overlooking acres of vineyards, I felt like I’d been whisked away to the French countryside!
Who would have thought that France was right in my backyard all this time?! Keeping my sweet tooth satisfied and taking me as close as possible to their land of origin, my MacarOn Café pastries were the only travel companions a diva could ever want! And with that, it’s au revoir (for now)!
