It Bags of the Moment

Fashionably brought to you by Simon Malls

A new season means it's time to take a look at the latest It Bags (of the moment). For me personally, I'm loving the Fendi Peekaboo bags. Sure, they've been around for a few seasons, but I'm completely and utterly sad that I missed out on the monster versions. But really those were almost impossible to get anyways, let alone the furry monster key rings. Also the price range of all these it bags are quite high, but we can all dream, right? Of course there's the Mansur Gavriel bags that have been hot for a few seasons as well, but are also nearly impossible to obtain because of it being practically a start up with limited stock and the average price all under $1000.

Moving on, here are few styles and shapes (backpack and drawstring) that I consider to be total It Bags this season. And the louder the better, either Valentino rainbow camo, Givenchy Favelas or those Anya Hindmarch printed bags are life!

Mountain Muse

Blue Ridge Mountains Nikka Shae

Recently I had a chance to escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains for a much needed getaway. In case you missed it, you can check it out Wander Lustin’ in the Mountains to see all of the fun we had.

It was so beautiful up there and the view was absolutely uh-mazing! It was, well, “almost heaven”…literally.  You couldn’t help but catch a few lots of candid moment for the camera. So, we did just that. My fellow “Fabulista” Talesha of Diva Xpress, who also came along with her family, styled me for an impromptu photo shoot with some pieces from her store. Hey, if you haven’t heard of Diva Xpress, well, you should get to know them. They specialize in unique, trendy and fashionable vintage and thrifted wear that’s super affordable and uber chic. Their pieces are sooo fabulous!

Designer Bucket List

Fashionably brought to you by Simon Malls

Ever since "Sex and the City" aired, women everywhere have yearned to have a pair of Manolo's added to their closet. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" may not have been all about the store and what was inside, but it engraved the idea of getting that little blue box as something wonderful. As I've gotten older and the labels change as do the trends, my designer bucket list grows as items get checked off. Here are a five items that I deem designer bucket list worthy.

1) Christian Louboutin Pumps – These now iconic red soles make these a bucket list must have.

2) Hermes Scarf – While the bags are well out of reach of many, the scarves are something truly classic and while still a splurge. a reachable one.

3) Anything from Tiffany's (but really jewelry) – Who doesn't want to open that blue box with a white ribbon?

4) Chanel Classic Flap – The Chanel resurgence over the last decade has been huge, and with it an even larger price increase. Still it's a classic bag that I can see being passed down from mother to daughter. But really we'd be happy with ANYTHING Chanel (especially those espadrilles).

5) Cartier Love Bracelet – Cartier may be known for it's watches, but it's love collection bracelet is your go-to bangle that's timeless.

So what's on your Designer Bucket List?

Festival Season Do's and Don'ts

Fashionably brought to you by Simon Malls

With the first weekend of Coachella down and another coming up, it is now just the beginning of the wonderful time of year that is festival season. Coachella is one of the first festivals to kickoff a season full of music. Soon enough we will be dancing at Lollapalooza in Chicago, getting a bit more classy in New York at the Governors Ball, and pulling out our cowboy boots at the Country Music Festival in Nashville.

While some of us are seasoned veterans to the festival game, others may just be hopping onto the bandwagon (and trust me you'll will never want to get off). Going to these festivals for the first time can be a bit overwhelming, but totally worth it. It is stressful enough finding the perfect outfits to show off each day, so I am here to ease some of your stress about festival season by providing you some do's and don'ts to keep in mind before rocking out.

DO'S

DO use cash instead of credit cards
Festivals can be hectic and the last thing you want is a stolen or lost credit card. My advice… leave those bad boys zipped up in some pocket only in case you really need them and use cash for most of your purchases.

DO rock a flower headband
Flower headbands are oh so cute, but sometimes hard to find the right places to wear them. Well hello festival season, the perfect opportunity to bring out your inner hippe and look good doing it in your flower headband.

DO bring those sunglasses
Most of the day is full of sun, and you are going to love the fact that your brought sunglasses to protect those eyes. Bonus points for later when your makeup is a bit worn from all the dancing and you can just throw on your sunglass to look put together again!

DO have a spare phone recharger
Festivals are hard to keep track of all of your friends sometimes, and with all of the video and pictures you will want to be taking, an spare phone recharge will be a great thing to just throw in your bag for later in the day.

DON'TS

DON'T wear heals
You are going to be running around all day, so the last thing you need are your feet to be aching. Do yourself a favor and put the heels aside for the weekend and put on some comfy Converse or Toms.

DON'T forget the flash tats
Flash tats are all the rage these days. They are a great accessory to add some metallic jewelry to your outfit, and pair perfectly with the festival vibe.

DON'T bring a big purse
You will be squeezing through crowds and dancing in small spaces into the night, and a big purse is a hassle to deal with in any of these situations. My go-to for festivals is either a crossbody bag or a fanny pack. They are compact and you can easily throw them over your should or clip them across your waist and forget about even having to carry them around.

DON'T leave the house without applying sunscreen
Although the sun might not be shinning bright, you will be outside and don't want to harm your skin in the process. Apply a nice layer of sunscreen right before you head off to the festival just to be safe.

Have fun this year during festival season! Comment below which festival you will be attending!

Top 5 Spring Must-Haves from Sephora

Fashionably brought to you by Simon Malls

Fellow Style Mavens!

It's finally here! Spring, that is… and with warmer weather and sunny days we are all excited and ready to put our best foot forward and step out into the sunshine. But are you really ready? These top 5 must-have items will get you prepared for your best spring skin yet! So go on, shop a little… it will be our little secret.

1.  BRONZER – Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Powder Duo ($53.00)

Everyone wants to have snuck away to a tropical location during the greyest days of winter and this bronzer will give you a sun-kissed radiance with a subtle sunny glow. The pop of color will revitalize your skin's possibly pale complexion leaving you with a healthy bronzed cheek. Just wait for the compliments as people ask you when you got back from vacation.

2.  NAILS – Dolce & Gabbana Matte Nail Coat ($25.00)

Dry and chapped hands are often a side-effect of winter that we all know too well. Luckily we can have beautiful nails with this nail strengthening top-coat that has a velvety matte finish to protect your favorite spring color. Currently the hottest trend for finger-tips is anything matte and this is your answer-all polish, just finish over your favorite colors and go!

3.  MASCARA – Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash ($24.00)

When wearing fresh faced, barely-there makeup, we want lashes that pop! This is the latest revelation in mascara, super-curling and lifting all in one, essentially erases the need for a lash curler (bonus time saving perk!) and also contains potent lash conditioning ingredients.

4.  LIP TREATMENT – Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15 ($22.50)

Sexy, soft, and kissable lips can be hard to find after we have struggled with chapping winter winds for months. Yet this silky treatment will help to hydrate, nourish, protect, and plump your pout. Ingredients include real sugar along with vitamins A, C, and E to provide protection from wrinkle causing free-radicals. While it comes in 13 colors, my pick for spring is Sugar Berry Tinted.

5.  BROWS – Too Faced Brow Envy, brow shaping and defining kit ($39.00)

No trend is hotter right now than full brows and this kit contains everything you need to shape, define, fill, and set your brows for spring. It's customizable for brunettes and blondes and the portable case makes definition easy.

Each of my top 5 picks for fresh spring beauty will have you set to step out in style and looking fresh faced with the boldest of trends. All these products for bronzed cheeks, a kissable pout, butterfly lashes, bold brows, and pretty pointers are available at Sephora in the Fashion Mall at Keystone.

Happy shopping!

Blue Ridge Mountains cabin Oh Nikka

I must admit…I’m a busy body. There, I said it. I’m always running around; here, there…everywhere…doing this, doing that. It seems like there’s never an end to my mayhem. Moments like this call for a break from the bustle to rejuvenate and get reenergized. Sometimes you just need to relax, slow things down, take deep breaths, and woosaaaah…

Perfect Spring Trend: The Shirt Dress

Fashionably brought to you by Simon Malls

One of my all time favorite trends each spring is the return of the shirt dress. It's just such a classic and easy look that you can wear practically all year round, but it's in the spring when the designers really amp up on their shirt dress game. From varying lengths, in both the dress and the sleeves, there's really a style for every body type out there. Even though I'm admittedly very short, I'm in love with maxi shirt dresses. They're just so billowy and airy and mix into that boho trend so easily. Plus you can easily dress it up or down. And while the classic white shirt dress will always be my favorite, I've seen several printed and chambray ones this year that I can't wait to get in my closet.

I've picked out a few in varying price ranges so that you can have your go-to shirt dress for summer!

Baby Shower Gift Ideas from Janie & Jack and Gymboree.

Fashionably brought to you by Simon Malls

Fellow Style Mavens!

Spring is synonymous with baby animals. It's a time when life seems to be buzzing now that the cold winter frost, ice, and snow has been melted away by the brilliant warm sunshine of April. It is also a popular time for baby showers, so to save you some valuable time searching for that perfect gift to give this time around, I have chosen to show you my favorites from Janie & Jack and Gymboree at the Fashion Mall at Keystone!

If you didn't catch the segment on Fox59 Morning Show then you can watch it here.

Shopping for cute kids clothes can be one of the most enjoyable experiences around. Janie & Jack and Gymboree make it easy with well laid out choices easily accessible throughout each store.

When shopping for baby shower gifts, it's good to keep in mind that parents to be will receive a lot of clothing for their newborn. A good idea is to shop for their child in the bigger size ranges such as 9 months to a year. Just keep in mind the season that the child will be in at that time. The outfit below on the left from Gymboree would be perfect to wear in late summer or early fall. The outfit below on the right is a cute boys outfit from Janie & Jack that would be great for spring or even a cooler summer day.

If your friends have opted to wait for a surprise reveal of baby's gender, they make your job a little tougher when it comes to finding the perfect shower gift. But don't worry too much, as there are plenty of gender neutral options. My favorites shown below left is an example of a layette with onesies and accessories that perfectly mix and match to create multiple outfits. The outfit to the right is the perfect gift set for "bringing baby home" and comes complete with reversible one piece, knit hat, blanket, and giraffe soft toy.

Below you'll see the gifts that I've chosen for baby girls. The one on the left is for 9-12 months and the bottom right is for a 3-6 month old. In the top center there are some cute accessories such as a hat, bib, t-shirt, and tights. On the far right you can see the boxed set with a floral jumper and story book.

Don't forget that many people have registries and while you don't have to buy from the list at that store, it's a good idea to have a look anyway. You can then buy things that you find cute but that they actually may need, a sure sign that your gift will get used and you'll get to see the cute baby in your outfit of choice!

Happy shopping my friends!
