FIFA Fabulous: World Cup Inspired Looks for Summer

It’s officially summer which means longer days, warmer weather, and… the 2014 FIFA World Cup! That’s right it’s that time again where the screams of victory and vuvuzelas can be heard from miles around. It’s that time when friends flock around TV screens to watch their favorite futbol teams compete for soccer supremacy. Yep, nothing sparks World Cup fever like a gathering over futbol and fashion. That’s right, fashion! In case you didn’t know, futbol and fashion go hand in hand. Hey, you want to celebrate your favorite team right? — and there’s no better way to represent them than to do it in style. So in the spirit of soccer and celebrations, here are a few futbol-inspired looks to kick-off your summer style looking FIFA fabulous.

Style Suggestion: Make FIFA even more fabulous and host a World Cup cocktail party.

World Cup team colors are very vibrant and bold, so don’t be afraid to wear rich tones when cheering your fav team on. The “goal” here is to show your own sense of style while still represent your team or country. If you want to “kick” things up a notch try adding a statement piece such as a fabulous necklace or handbag. Incorporating a statement accessory is a definite style SCOOOOORE for any occasion!

Well, I’m 3 days into my #NYCadventure! Yay!!! Let’s recap Day #2 shall we…

Recovering from a full day of 5^th Avenue fun on Day 1 (hey, that rhymes), I stopped by the Wendy Show to see the Queen of TV herself Miss Wendy Williams! I had an absolute blast! I also learned a valuable lesson… When you’re on TV, no matter how exhausted you may be, always smile for the camera. 😉 Afterall, you don’t wanna get caught looking like you need deserve a nap. (-O Later that evening I set sail with several dazzling divas for Full Figure Fashion Week’s “Curves at Sea” All White Cruise. What a wonderful experience! I really enjoyed sailing the Hudson at sunset. The views of the city were uh-mazing and all of the plus size divas onboard looked absolutely stunning! Huge hugs to Unique Sisters Designs back in Atlanta for creating my fabulous dress for the cruise. (as she sashays and twirls into the night) 😛

It’s Day #2 on my #NYCadventure and I’m super excited! Why you ask? Well I will explain in a bit, but first let me recap my Day 1 fun.

Yesterday I did a little sightseeing and lots of 5^th Avenue frolicking. On the agenda was a stop by the gorgeous Plaza Hotel where I got into the spirit of the City with… well… a few spirits, courtesy of The Plaza Hotel’s Champagne Bar. After several Strawberry + Champagne Monitors later and it was ready time to do a little shopping! And, just steps away from The Plaza Hotel (thank goodness) was the famed Bergdorf Goodman department store where I’d been wanting to go since my NYC visit a few years back. Continue Reading…

Fashion Fix Monday Mix: Gregory Sylvia

For this week’s Fashion Fix I’m showcasing a true work of art. No, it’s not some Impressionist piece from Picasso or Van Gogh, nor is it on exhibition at the Guggenheim or The Louvre. This masterpiece is not behind some velvet rope where curious eyes vie for a once in a lifetime chance to get a glimpse of this rare work of art. And while this stunning showpiece is not currently at Christie’s Auction House looking to fetch a King’s ransom, it would definitely be a suitable addition to any connoisseur’s most treasured collection. Atlanta Beauty: Julian’s Cosmetics + Skincare

Lately I’ve been on a breakneck pace. Eight events in three days (yes… that actually just happened). Ok, so I spent my Saturday at Julian’s “Pamper-palooza” (as I call it) and my best description of the experience would be like being a kid in a candy store… unsupervised… with the doors locked… from the inside… while wishing the day would never end. My fantastic facial session was ‘performed’ by staff member Dorlisa. And I’m not using the word ‘performed’ lightly either. She literally and simply put on a show! Bravo Dorlisa! Not only was the experience very informative but it was sooo relaxing… my skin felt so heavenly soft and refreshed… like satin kissed by angels tears. 😀

After my spa experience I had the absolute pleasure of a full make-up session with the master himself, Julian Reynolds. After having my face skillfully painted and sculpted I’m convinced that Julian is definitely some sort of super hero. Not to mention his utility belt full of beauty and makeup goodies surely gave away his identity. BAAAM! KA-POW!!! 😛

Well, unfortunately my moment of euphoria couldn’t last forever as I had yet another of several events to attend that day (of course). But fret not my friends for as I departed Julian’s Cosmetics + Skincare I felt empowered and ready to take on just about anything the day had to offer. Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s a kitten in a tree somewhere that needs rescuing. 😀

VIPeek Screening: Think Like A Man Too

They’re baaack! Just in time for summer, movie-goers will get a second dose of the hilarious side-splitting sequel, Think Like A Man Too. The comedy blockbuster hits theaters on Friday, June 20 for round “Too” as all of the original cast member’s return to heat up the hilarity in one of the seasons most anticipated films. Earlier today I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive meet and greet with cast member’s Kevin Hart (Ride Along and Laugh at My Pain ) and Terrence J (40 Year-Old Virgin ) at Macy’s Lenox Square. Attendees of the event got a little insight on the film, mixed and mingled a bit, and enjoyed many moments of laughter as Kevin Hart was in rare form. I had a lot of fun time at the event. In fact, I had so much fun that I’m doing double duty tonight (that sounded weird, right?). Tonight I’m bringing you along to my very own sequel which I call “Think Like A Man Too-Too”. In this second installment coverage I will bring you candid captures LIVE from the red carpet prescreening of Think Like A Man Too at Regal Atlantic Station in Atlanta.

Macy’s & Papi present the Stars of “Think Like A Man Too”

Well movie-goers it’s nearly summer, and you know what that means… it’s time to kick off the season of blockbusters with one of this summer’s hottest and most anticipated films, “Think Like A Man Too”! The long awaited follow-up to the uber-funny “Think Like A Man”, “Think Like A Man Too” is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on Friday, June 20. And to celebrate the upcoming premier of this side-splitting sequel, Macy’s teamed up with men’s underwear brand Papi, to bring several of the movies’ cast members to its Lenox Square location for an exclusive meet and greet. Actor/Comedian Kevin Hart, from Ride Along and Laugh at My Pain, and Terrence J, from 40 Year-Old Virgin, were both in-store to talk about the movie and to also mix and mingle with shoppers.

And to add to the excitement of the event, the first 125 customers to make any $35 or more purchase of Papi underwear got to meet both Kevin and Terrence. It was literally ‘standing room only’ as shoppers flooded Macy’s Men’s Department to get a glimpse of the actors. And as expected, both Kevin Hart at Terrence J were in rare form providing many moments of hilarity. I had a wonderful time and could not wait to head over to Regal Cinemas in Atlantic Station for the VIP sneak peek and red carpet event later that evening.
