Sassy Sweatshirt Styles for Fall

Sassy Sweatshirt Styles for Fall

Hey SIMONistas!

Fall makes being fashionable fun, and with so many options available for us to flaunt our style, it’s almost too difficult to choose just one. Luckily, the colder weather allows for (and commands for) lots of layers. The sweatshirt trend this season is in full effect, so make sure you’ve got your top threads ready for action. When shopping for sweatshirts, think bold. Think sassy. Think, “I own this trend,” because if you follow these tips, you totally will.

Sassy Sweatshirt Styles for Fall Casual Chic

There is a certain merit to mastering the art of what us fashionistas call “comfy chic.” Perhaps because it’s the perfect marriage between two things we love, there’s really no better feeling than knowing you look great and your comfort isn’t suffering. When it comes to the sweatshirt trend, it might be easy to gravitate towards strictly comfy, casual pieces. But with just a change in approach, your casual sweatshirt can still be chic with no extra effort. This season, animal prints are practically a neutral. Pick a sweatshirt that screams sass, any print is great– but keep the color scheme light so you can wear it in the daytime without looking too over-the-top.

Sassy Sweatshirt Styles for Fall Sophistication After Sundown

Who said you can’t wear a sweatshirt out after dark? Being trendy has never been so simple; sweatshirts are in, and they are hot (figuratively and literally). When looking for the perfect sweatshirt to wear out at night, remember color scheme and material. Always opt for darker shades and look for materials that look a little more sophisticated than the usual 100 percent cotton. Anything that has a metallic quality is perfect for the night scene. You’ll shine in photos and in person!

Sassy Sweatshirt Styles for Fall Lovely Lethal Leather

Leather (or shall we say, faux leather) deserves its own category because this trend is huge right now. If you don’t already own something leather, now is the perfect time to ease into the 50’s-reminiscent trend– with a sweatshirt. You can choose just how much attention you want to devote to the trend by picking styles that only have leather on a portion of the sleeves or the piping around the hems. Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb on this one. It’s a great way to channel your edgy alter-ego! Make it extra fun by adding some red lipstick and black skinnies.

Fright Night at Fernbank

Martinis & IMAX Fright Night 2013

Hey Ghouls & Goblins,

Tonight I will be “creeping” away to a frighting-ly fa-BOO-lous Halloween party at Fernbank’s Martinis & IMAX. We will “boogy” down to the bone-rattling sounds of Bogey and the Viceroy, while enjoying devilishly-delicious drinks featuring SVEDKA Vodka, and a hideously-hilarious costume contest. The night promises to be so spooktacular and that it will certainly wake the dead.

And although the “dead” will be “undead” all night long, I will be bringing you all the wicked fun “live” on Instagram so stay tuned. Muahhhahaa!!!

Must-Have Autumn Accessories

Must-Have Autumn Accessories

Hey Fashionistas!

Sometimes we get so excited about our new Fall wardrobe that we forget the most important part– The accessories. Your new outfit isn’t complete without wrist candy on your taxi-hailing hand or a scarf around your chilly, bare neck. Here are some of my favorite autumn accessories that will keep your style hot even as the temperature cools.

Stylish Scarves

Stylish Scarves for Fall

(one) Belk – Red Camel Cross Scarf, (two) Tory Burch – Calla Engineered Scarf, (three) Bebe – Ombre Metallic Scarf

A scarf is an age-old technique that’s been used by women over the decades to incorporate both style and functionality. The best thing about scarves is their variety. Depending on the weather or your mood, you can opt for a thicker or thinner material, a neutral or a printed piece. The Tory Burch “Calla Engineered Scarf” (two) is the perfect transition item from Summer to Fall. The pattern and colors and as equally suggestive of both a laid back style and the structured look of Fall.

Jingle Jewels

Jingle Jewels for Fall

(one) House of Harlow 1960 – Leather Station Necklace (Nordstrom), (two) Henri Bendel – Deluxe-Girlfriend-Beaded-Wrap-Bracelet, (three) Tory Burch – Tripp Enamel Ring

Just because you might have long sleeves doesn’t mean you can neglect your poor, naked wrists. In fact, sleeves tend to look really nice next to a great stack of jewels. Not to mention those lonely fingers that need rings. And, oh– Neck without a scarf today? We’ve got something for that. Give your outfit a whole different vibe depending on the jewelry you choose. A statement necklace or ring can go a long way.

Watch Out!

Watch Out Watches for Fall

(one) Bebe – Rhinestone Lace Watch, (two) Shinola – ‘The Birdy’ Bracelet Watch (Nordstrom)

Now, you didn’t think you could have a complete wrist without a watch, did you? Not only are they perfect complements to your bracelet choices, but watches are actually functional. Who doesn’t love functional fashion? You have an actual reason to wear a flashy (or simple) wristwatch– Don’t pass up the opportunity! Check out the totally girly but tastefully badass watch from Bebe (top) and the simply classy timepiece, ‘The Birdy’ by Shinola (bottom).

Happy Hats

Happy Hats for Fall

(one) San Diego Hat – Zip Edge Cloche (Nordstrom), (two) Tory Burch – Moss Cashmere Stitched Pom Pom Hat, (three) Belk – Giovannio Bobby with Bow Hat

Hats are another accessory that exists to help you. We love hats because they add a ton of personality to any outfit. With Fall comes the opportunity to trade in straw fedoras and sun hats for darker colored, classy hats of all shapes and sizes. And lucky for us– Beanies are on-trend if we’re really feeling edgy (or really having a bad hair day!).

Glove Love

Glove Love for Fall

(one) Tory Burch – Marion Glove, (two) Kenneth Cole – Studded Leather Gloves

As the winter months approach, we must dress accordingly. With this being said, your coat and skinnies can only take you so far into the season. We now take the place of your mother and remind you to grab your gloves! Gloves are just another excuse for us to show off our fun personalities, so get creative with your glove choice… The more unique, the better.

Be sure to stop by the shops at Lenox Square & Phipps Plaza to find this season’s must-have accessories.

Single Wives Weekend: Sunday Tea with The Wives Society

The Single Wives Club Tea

Hi Lovelies,

Today I will be attending a fabulous Sunday tea social as part of the Single Wives Weekend finale. Cocktail dresses, Sunday hats, opera gloves and pearls, will set the style today as ladies mix and mingle over tea and conversations in full-on glam. The Sunday Tea is hosted by The Wives Society, a group of married women who offer mentorship to single women while sharing their insight and advice on what it takes to be a wife.

I‘m so excited to attend the Sunday Tea and participate in today’s discussion since I am a wife myself. I’m often asked how I’m able to juggle family life, blogging, and career. When I look at each my faith in God is the obvious answer. But there is another important factor that is also consistent between them and that is support. I believe that without true support none of these things would be work in harmony as it is the bind that holds these things together in my life. So whether by way of your friends, your family, your spouse or significant other, finding support will ultimately pave the way to your success.

I can’t wait to share my #marriedlife experiences with all of the fabulous ladies over tea today! So stay tuned as I bring you into the conversation with candid captures via Instagram below. Enjoy!!!
