Preachers of L.A. Exclusive Luncheon & Sneak Peek Event

Hi Lovelies!

Have you heard the news? Oxygen, the network known for its out-of-the-box shows, is bringing you its latest reality series Preachers of L.A. on Wednesday, October 9. I know you can’t wait to check out this new series on Oxygen, so today I’m giving you an exclusive VIPeek ‘LIVE’ from an private luncheon at the DO Restaurant in Atlanta. Several of the shows cast members will also be here and I will capture all of the fun on Twitter and Instagram. But before we get our Insta-Glam on, here’s a little bit about the the show.

Known for their fiery sermons, community outreach and passionate followings, pastors have become iconic, beloved, and sometimes polarizing figures in modern culture. Yet, few people have access to these larger-than-life men away from the pulpit. Until now.

We’re thrilled to introduce Preachers of L.A., a rare glimpse into the lives of six high-profile pastors from Los Angeles. From pro skateboarder Pastor Jay Haizlip to Grace Jones‘ brother Bishop Noel Jones to Bishop Clarence McClendon, who reaches 250 million homes via international broadcast each week, Preachers of L.A. will explore the human side of these ambitious and very powerful men of faith.

Preachers of L.A. premieres on the Oxygen Network on Wednesday, October 9th at 9pm.

Fashionable Atlantan’s converged at the new Trina Turk shop at Phipps Plaza as the store hosted its grand opening event in spectacular fashion. Trina Turk, the visionary behind the brand was also in the house to mix and mingle with guests at this exclusive private affair. I must say that this store is absolutely amazing!!! Immediately upon entering you sense the vibrant ambiance that surrounds the brands boldly chic style. Trina Turk effortlessly delivers Cali-chic in Palm Springs-spectacular fashion in each and every offering. Guests of the event enjoyed an assortment of tasty nibbles, sips, and gift bags filled with a few welcomed surprises, all while getting an exclusive VIPeek at the stores latest collections. Models also walked the crowd showcasing several of the stores’ hautest looks for the moment (love, Love, LOVED that Elska top! Gorgeous!!! …queue heart stop & gasp). And although I spent an excessive amount of time gawking over that fabulous Elska top and accessories display case filled with all those “jingle jewels”, I did manage to snap a few pics… Enjoy!

The new Trina Turk store is located near the Monarch Court inside Phipps Plaza and features Turk’s signature prints as well as dynamic collection of the brands “must-have” offerings in home décor, accessories, women’s apparel and shoes. I’m heading back for that fabulous Elska top ….and a few jingle jewels of course!

“Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2” Foodimobile Tour stops in Atlanta THIS WEEKEND!!!

Join “CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2” on the Atlanta Foodimobile Tour!

Inventor Flint Lockwood, the star of Sony Pictures Animation’s highly anticipated animated feature Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, has a whole new way for moviegoers to meet his delicious co-stars before the movie hits theaters everywhere on September 27. On Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th, the fun “foodimal” stars of the film will be available in Atlanta – in healthy and tasty lunch-sized portions – in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 foodimobile tour!

Atlanta families are encouraged to join the Foodimobile tour to pick up their own lunch box featuring foodimal characters, and to receive recipe cards explaining how to make foodimals at home!

Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué

Hey Divas,

It’s the 1980’s (my favorite decade btw) and looking fabulously chic is not only a rite of passage but it’s also every bit of a chore. To go full-on glamorous you need a small arsenal of products, a lot of patience, and a very vivid imagination. Let’s see, multi-tiered hairdo—check; any shade of bright red lipstick—check; press-on nails in matching fire engine red—check. Well, unfortunately it’s no longer the 80’s… But lucky for us (and our sense style) times have changed. Padded shoulders are now reserved for athletic wear, and those clunky press-on nails that made your fingertips resemble dragon-talons are all but folklore in the fabled history of fashion faux pas. And while there is still ongoing debate over who actually shot J.R. Ewing, we can all agree that nail polish has certainly come a long way since the 80’s. Thank goodness! So let’s (reluctantly) fast forward to the present time (hey, I told you I loved the 80’s), and talk about a fabulous nail polish appliqué that is revolutionizing nail beauty. Now I’m no Nail-nista, nor do I have a fingertip fetish, but I do want my digits to look dazzling with the least amount of time and effort…and finding a nail polish that’s up to the task is like spotting the elusive and mythical jackalope grazing in a garden… I wish you luck on your quest. 😉

With my new Incoco nails I now have plenty of “free time on my hands”…literally! So what’s a girl to do with all this extra time? Transition Your Summer Styles into Fall Fabulous

Hey Fashionistas!

It’s almost Fall ladies, which means it’s about time to trade in the bikini for a coat and tights. Though sultry summer has come to end, there are still many opportunities for you to look fabulous and on-trend without breaking the bank. Sometimes following trends can be difficult, especially when we don’t all have the bottomless wallets of celebrities. But before you get discouraged there’s good news. You can easily transition some of your favorite summer pieces into your fall staple items with just a few simple tricks. It’s all about transforming the old into new, and it’s a lot more doable than you think.

Maxi Dress. Who doesn’t wish they could wear fun dresses year round? To make a maxi dress fall-appropriate, there are a lot of simple tricks of transformation. Deep blue blazers are in this season, and you can tack on one of these attention-grabbing pieces to an otherwise simple maxi dress. Blazers have an edgy touch that will amp up the dainty-ness of a dress. Another touch for this look is to add tights or leggings. Tights are best for more professional occasions, while leggings are perfect for comfy-but-practical situations. To avoid looking like a mismatched hodgepodge, though, make sure to stick to a similar color palette for the pieces, leaving the flashiness to one or two complementary staple items.

Loud patterns. Tribal patterns and chevron were in full effect this summer. For a smooth transition from June to September, grab your printed items (shorts, pants, tops) and pair them with on-trend additions, such as dark denim vests and tops. Because summer patterns are usually brighter in color, balance them with dark hues to match the change in season — Consider burnt oranges and moss greens to change the mood. In fact, the geo-prints that are overtaking stores this season are quite reminiscent of tribal patterns, making the switch to fall a painless one.

White pieces. Yes, we know the rule says you can’t wear white after Labor Day, but in today’s fashion world, white has become timeless. If you’ve got a bunch of whites lying around that you thought were only summer-appropriate, you’re in for a treat. Consider your summer whites as winter whites. White pants, white top, even a white scarf– You’ll look like you stepped right off the runway. Though, if you can’t see yourself committing to the all-white outfit, try doing just a white top with a chunky white necklace, paired with colored or printed bottoms. The white-on-white trend is taking fall by snowstorm, and you’ll be feeling classy cool.

Insta-Glam ReSnap: One Direction “This is Us” Prescreening Event

Hey Lovelies,

Ok, before we go any further… I have to admit… I absolutely LOVE One Direction!!! (In my best giggly school girl voice) I know, I know, it seems a bit odd for a 30 (ish) woman to be so giddy for a teeny-bopper boy band, let alone even know who One Direction is, but let me tell you that their music is soooo cool! There, I said it… 😀

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let me tell you about a recent prescreening event for the One Direction: This is Us film that I had the honor of hosting a ticket giveaway for. Throngs of mothers and daughters, tweens and teens, all converged at AMC Parkway Pointe 15 in Atlanta to get an exclusive sneak peak of the One Direction bio pic This is Us. I even spotted a few dads who braved the overwhelmingly all-girl crowd with their little One-Directioners. No worries guys, your identities are safe with me. 😉 Guest of the event experienced the red carpet treatment along with fabulous goodie bags, mini makeovers and plenty of photobooth fun! Check out some of the fun!

If you have tweens girls (like I do) you’ve probably know EXACTLY who One Direction is. My two girls, like the many hundreds of thousands of 1D fans, have tunes like Kiss You, What Makes You Beautiful, and my favorite Best Song Ever, on endless replay lately. So after my girls heard they were going to the prescreening of This is Us, guess who was crowned Mom of the Year? ;-D Hey, the 1D craze is in full effect, and I can honestly say that after seeing the film I can see why anyone would be drawn to their stories and how they’ve come to be one of the hottest acts in music. This fam-friendly film follows the groups’ charismatic members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, and their many adventures on tour complete with behind the scenes horseplay along with touching stories from their families’ come-along journeys as the boys rise to meteoric stardom. And just as their name suggests, these guys are literally headed in “one direction” and that’s UP!

InstaGlam ReSnap: Glitz, Glam, and Gatsby!

It’s no secret that I simply adore any and everything Gatsby!!! And now that The Great Gatsby movie is available on DVD I’m even more giddier for Gatsby than ever before! I’ve already snagged my copy of this amazing film which will see no less than 4 rewinds over the next few days. 😉 I’m also feeling a bit inspired by all of the Gatsby buzz, so for this week’s InstaGlam ReSnap we’re heading back in time to the fabulous Roaring 20’s where glitz and glam were ALWAYS in style. Enjoy!!!

Recently I co-hosted an exclusive preview event for The Great Gatsby movie called the Summer of Gatsby Experience at Strip in Atlanta’s Atlantic Station district. This fabulous event was “the cat’s meow” as dazzling divas donned their flapper dresses and feathers with the grandeur of 20’s era pizzazz. Guests mixed and mingled over Gatsby-inspired cocktails, yummy hors d’oeuvres, all while being serenaded by the Gatsby movie soundtrack. Now what would an event be without a red carpet and plenty of photo ops. Check out some of the guests looking absolutely fabulous in their flapper fashion.

Huge hugs to Jonathan and Warner Bros for the gracious invite! Kisses to all of my glamtastic BFF divas for coming out that night! We had such a mah-veluos time daahlings!!!

Completing your look with a fabulous pop-of-color can make all the difference by transforming your look from drab to drool in an instance.
