V-Day Marietta Presents The Vagina Monologues

Hey Lovelies,

Recently I had the honor of participating in a production of Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues for V-Day Marietta as part of a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. I was very excited and a little nervous when producer Ursula Kelly reached out to me and asked how my acting chops were. I thought…well, I CAN be dramatic at times, so maybe I could use my drama skills for a greater good. 😉 After all, being part of a dramatic performance should be a piece of cake, right? 😛 Well, maybe I was more worried about which leg I was supposed to break more than anything. LOL

Held at the Good Acting Studio in Marietta, the production featured readings from the Vagina Monologues by women who recount compelling experiences of love, courage, pain, power, awakening, and triumph. Proceeds from the production benefited Girls Inc. of Atlanta, an organization devoted to helping girls realize their potential.

The amazing cast

I serve as the host and narrator to this amazing production, and I was so honored to stand alongside a cast of the most incredible women I have ever met. Everyone did an outstanding job and I was so proud to be a part of this ensemble. Throughout our life’s journeys there are some experiences that have a lasting impact on you and I must say that this was definitely one of those events. Thanks to the fabulous Ursula S. Kelly for this incredible opportunity. Thanks also to the fabulous Tanya Tibbs, creator of the V-Bar, for providing samples of her amazing product to cast members and guests. Huge hugs to Michael Mario, the director of V-Day Marietta and owner of Good Acting Studio, for directing this amazing production. And last but certainly not least kisses to the incredible cast, Victoria Scala, Angela Heller, Lakshmi Tayyebi, Alina Lia, Marisa Jordan, Peg Thon, and Michele Hazzard. Bravo ladies!!!!!

Throwback Thursday: LOVE LUST LUSH event @LushCosmetics

Hi Lovelies!

So far 2013 has been off to a fabulous start! I’ve attended soooo many events this year…I lost count some time back in February (or was it January). 😀 All were amazing, but there’s one FAB event that I hosted not long ago that was one of the most fun I’ve ever had; it was the LOVE LUST LUSH event at LUSH Cosmetics. I had the pleasure of hosting my first LUSH pamper party back in November and it was such a “scenterific” success I couldn’t wait to do it again! So with the opportunity to host yet another scented soiree at LUSH you know I was like a kid at a candy convention and couldn’t wait to unwrap another night of fun! 😀

Located inside Macy’s at Lenox Square Mall, LUSH Cosmetics (@LushCosmetics) curbs my fragrance fix for all things “scent-tastic”… well, let’s just say I’m OBSESSED with this store! Here’s a challenge; try strolling by any LUSH store and see if the seductive fragrance of decadence doesn’t grab your senses and takes them on a fabulous ride of sweet scented goodness. Take your time…I’ll wait…

So, while you’re filling your basket with bath bombs and bubble bars, let me tell ya about the LOVE LUST LUSH event. The event surrounded Valentine’s Day and featured LUSH’s hottest scents for the season. There were fab gifts and giveaways, product samples, swag bags, discounts throughout the night, yummy cupcakes and candy, strawberries, sweet sips, and tons of fun! Guests previewed LUSH’s latest offerings while indulging in complimentary hand and foot massages and makeup applications using LUSH’s organic beauty line. We had such an amazing time and one lucky lady walked away with a fabulous gift box choc-full of LUSH products!!! What a fabulous night!!! Monyetta Shaw introduces new children’s book The Adventures of Maddie

Recently I attended a Meet & Greet for a sneak peek at a new children’s book by Monyetta Shaw titled The Adventures of Maddie. A Dynamic Diva in every sense, Monyetta is the Founder & CEO of The Evan Grace Group, fiancée to singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, and mother of two. The Adventures of Maddie, inspired by Monyetta’s young daughter Madilyn, takes a delightful look at the life of a little girl named Maddie who chronicles her life’s discovery with family and friends through new and exciting experiences. I snagged a copy of this wonderful book and I must say that it’s a definite must-read for kids. It’s great to read such an uplifting story that encourages young minds to dream while teaching them invaluable life lessons along the way. Bravo!

The event was hosted at the fabulous Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse and featured yummy hors d’oeuvres, delicious wine, and a book signing by Monyetta. I had the pleasure of meeting Monyetta a few years back during a Ladies Night Out event hosted by Sister 2 Sister Magazine where she rocked a fab Birkin bag that had my style radar going haywire. 😀 Congrats Monyetta on your book and many more blessing and success to you. Oh, and if you ever want to donate that Birkin look me up girl! 😉
