Curls just want to have fun!

I love me & I have the right to be curly!
Me and the girls ready to be pampered

Me and the girls ready to be pampered

It’s true, “curls” AND girls really do just want to have fun, and a fun day it was as Fro Fashion Week kicked off its weekend celebration of natural hair and beauty at the Dazzling Diva Day Spa in Powder Springs. And what better way to jumpstart the weekend festivities than to treat the girls to a day of primping, pampering, and polish. Hey, ladies…we gotta train our “little divas” early, right!? 😉

So, with my two “divas-in-training” by my side, we headed over to Dazzling Diva Day Spa for a day of fun, because after all…who can pass on a trip to the spa? (queue the crickets…) As I walked throughout the facility I stumbled a few times over my jaw which was dragging on the floor beneath me. Pink, purple, and zebra print accents adorned the walls and decor, setting the ambiance for a glamtastic experience.

Angela Robbins, owner of Dazzling Diva Day Spa, has created a quintessential girls fantasy play place, with girly goodies at each and every turn. There’s a spa area where girls can get manicures and pedicures, mini facials, hair styling, and even makeup. There’s also a party room to host birthdays and special events, a media room for movie watching complete with a popcorn machine; and, get this…a wardrobe area where the girls can dress up in a feather boas, fluffy hats, shades, jewelry, furry purses and skirts, while strutting their stuff down the pink carpeted runway to the music of their choice. Too fab! I couldn’t help but be instantly taken aback to my (much) younger days of playing dress up, where I would raid my mom and aunts’ closets in search of something fabulous to wear down the runway in my very own fashion show. Well, Dazzling Diva Day Spa caters to every girl’s desires, by creating an atmosphere where she can transform herself from a princess to a queen, and anything else she can dream. 😉

The Dazzling Diva Day Spa was the perfect setting for this Fro Fashion Week soiree, aptly named “I love me & I have the right to remain curly!” which focuses on building and instilling self esteem and self confidence in our little girls, and to remind them that they are beautiful just as they are. Amen! CEO and founder of Fro Fashion Week and Naturally Me Media, Tarin Boone spearheaded this soirée which featured a lineup of fabulous women who shared stories and motivating words of encouragement that inspired the girls to embrace their natural hair.

Jessica McGuinty of Jessicurl spoke to the girls about some of her experiences growing up as a little girl, how they should embrace their naturally curly hair just as she has her own, and how her curly hair was the inspiration behind the creation of her company. One highlight of the event was when Trina Pierre, stylist and owner of Salon Infinity, demonstrated a cool way to twist a Barbie Doll’s straight hair to give it a cute natural style, just like their own.

Author and Illustrator Ayanna Davis was also there to share her wonderful children’s book 12 Months with Ayanna’s Kids, where she selected several lucky little divas to read aloud from her book. Also, Authoprenuer and empowerment speaker Daree Allen, discussed her book “What’s Wrong with Me?” which is a memoir/self-help guide for teen girls and young women.

Thanks to Tarin Boone for having this wonderful spirit boosting event as part of the Fro Fashion Week activities. My girls are still talking about how much fun they had, and all the things they learned. I know that we all left with a renewed sense of self worth, and my girls and I are forever grateful.

Set me free!

Natural Girls Rock

Now we’ve all had an issue or two with our hair. Throughout the ages, women have always been challenged with the daunting task of taming our manes. And for the most part, we’ve been on the losing end; getting the proverbial “shaft” when it comes to our do’s. With the countless surpluses of products that line our shelves you’d think that we’d be claiming victory over our coiffure. Oh, but to the contrary. In fact, for most of us, we battle our hair each and every day, and when the dust settles we most often end up with an X in the loss column. So what do we do? Often times we just “waive the white flag” and succumb to defeat by wrapping-it up, wigging-it over, or we just wallow in our frustrations. Let’s face it; it’s a tough world out there. The “hair battle” lines have been drawn ladies, and we can’t afford any more casualties.

It’s time to take back our roots!!! Are yall with me? Let’s go!!!

Recently I was invited to attend an event presented by Natural Girls Rock aptly named “Natural is…The FREEDOM to be YOU!” at the trendy 595 North Event Venue and Lounge in downtown Atlanta. This event definitely lived up to its buzz, and featured plenty of excitement and a host of surprises.

Upon entering the event, which was jam packed, one couldn’t help but be amazed at all the beautiful and creative natural hair styles that all the divas were rockin.

From up-do’s to afros and kinks to curls, all natural hair types and textures were represented by the fabulous ladies in the room.

Hosted by YouTuber’s MsVCharles whose hair was simply gorgeous, and WhoisSugar who kept the crowd in stitches. Event goers enjoyed good food, great music, giveaways, swag bags, and lots of fun.  New York emcee Sha Stimuli, rocked the house with his creative rap flow, and the Guinness Book record holder for the largest afro, Aevin Dugas, amazed attendees with her jaw dropping mane.  Simply amazing! Now, I could never be sure, but I faintly recall hearing what sounded like Tamara Dobson’s tears hitting the floor as Ms. Dugas showed off her record breaking mane. (A lil Cleopatra Jones humor for my retro divas) 😛

The event featured vendors offering everything from fabulous jewelry and accessories to a vast selection of natural hair, makeup and skin care products such as Taliah Waajid’s Black Earth Products, Koils by Nature, Pura Body Naturals, and the fabulous “mane-taming” CoCo Curls by Jeannell Darden (check out the CoCo Curls product review HERE).

Guests were treated to spoken word artists, and a host of inspirational and informative sessions from various panelists and motivational speakers, including a Q&A session with a panel of men who expressed their thoughts and perceptions regarding women’s hair, natural and otherwise. There was also a fashion show and free hair consultations by The Damn Salon, and makeup sessions by LAMIK cosmetics.

Check out some of the footage from this fab event:

But, the highlight of the event was celebrity natural hairstylist April B, who performed a LIVE big chop on the main stage. If you’ve never heard of a “big chop” it’s the process of cutting off the relaxed or permed ends of the hair when transitioning from chemically processed hair to natural hair. I must applaud and salute ANY diva who transitions to natural hair since few possess the courage AND bravery to cut off all of their hair (in some case to the root) to begin the process of re-growing and rejuvenating their hair from the root out. Bravo ladies!

I had a wonderful time catching up with a few of my fellow divas TMarie of Charisma Designs, makeup artist Alexandria Butler, and TiaLou of If I were a Brit girl, as well as interacting with all the ladies as they each shared their own personal hairstories, from triumphs to the failures. It was definitely a “hair-raising” experience. 😉

Thanks to the fabulous Kelly J (Kurly Kelly)(and affectionately known as “Madam General” 😀 ), founder of Natural Girls Rock, for the gracious invite. Last summer I had the pleasure of attending my first Natural Girls Rock meetup where I first met Kelly, who encouraged the Naturalista’s to rock their natural do’s with confidence and swagger.

So, watch out world; Natural Girls Rock is rounding up the troops to wage war on the stereotypes and myths surrounding the “Naturalista” lifestyle. Because wearing your hair in its natural state is…well…an expression of your individual “freedom”, and you should ROCK IT! Natural Girls Rock empowers us with a sense of “independence” and “liberation” to regain our FREEDOM from relaxers, perms and other harsh chemicals. The FREEDOM to express our definitive uniqueness and style. The FREEDOM to be YOU! Natural Girls Rock is a movement that aims to promote and encourage women to wear their hair in its natural state, as well as provide them with a much needed ally in the war on hair.

Romancing the Stone

Stone Savant Jewelry by Danielle C. Hinton

As many of you may know, I am an aficionado when it comes to fabulous neckwear and accessories. In fact, I’ve coined a few terms that best describe my affection for all things jewelry; the “connoisseur de choker”, or “bangle le beau”, or “accessory la amour”….Rosetta Stone is the BEST, right!!!  😐 Needless to say I have a serious “love affair” with beautiful and unique jewelry; especially statement pieces that capture the eye from across the room. So, when I received an invite to attend a private photo shoot for Stone Savant’s Spring 2012 collection by designer and creator Danielle C. Hinton, I was beyond excited, since not only would I get an exclusive look at her new up and coming collection, but I could also use the opportunity to practice on my French… Oui oui!  So, with my “mauvais Français” (bad French) in tow, I headed down to a private studio in Castleberry Hills for a behind-the-scenes preview of this unique collection of semi-precious and handcrafted gemstones.

Upon arrival at the studio, professional hair stylist Nina Akpan, and celebrity makeup artist Mia “Mimi J” Johnson were working their magic as they prepared the models for the photo session which was being captured by photographer James Anthony.

At first glance of the collection I immediately felt a sense of enchantment and captivation and I couldn’t help but gaze in admiration, as these exotic pieces embodied an aura of sophistication that begged to be worn.

With cues at “Rock & Roll” music classics and aptly named Rock Steady, the Spring 2012 collection features a mixture of amethyst, ametrine, and citrine (My Girl), labradorite (Shot Through the Heart), lapis lazuli cubes (September), pink opal nuggets (Dream On), iolite (Dock of the Bay), agate slices (Purple Haze), gold-plated amethyst slices (Is This Love), African opal (Bad to the Bone), amethyst studs (Uptown Girl), and rubies (Red Corvette). And just like Prince’s saucy hit “Little Red Corvette” each piece in the collection audaciously takes you on a thrill ride of which you are a willing and eager passenger.

Designer and creator Danielle C. Hinton captures the essence of Stone Savant’s Bohemian vibe by partnering bold stones and semi-precious gemstones with whimsical chains, shells, and beads resulting in luxurious one-of-a-kind pieces that wear like fine art. With their intricate beadwork, draping designs, 18-carat gold closures and a signature SSJ clasp, these “works of art” embody both class and style.

“Stone Savant is my tangible imagination”, says designer Danielle C. Hinton. “Each piece is a perspective from my travels, exploration and personal style. I feel so fortunate to be able to convey my thoughts and creativity into pieces of jewelry”. Hinton’s collection is the chic embodiment of inspiration conveyed with style.

You can pry this beautiful piece from my cold dead hands! :-D

I had an opportunity to try on a few pieces from the Rock Steady collection, of which required several people to pry from my neck as I did not want to take them off. 😉 One of my faves was this beauty from their Seven Seas collection. Someone catch me…I feel faint… 😀

Follow Me Fridays: Puttin’ on the Glitz

Glitzy Lips

As many of you already know, I’m a TRUE 80’s baby. From the bright, sparkly and colorful fashions, to the yummy lip balm. Yep..lip balm; I had em all! Seems excessive, you say? Well, if having a stash of Bonne Bell Lip Smackers that could rival the surplus of gold in Fort Knox is an “excessive” then fine; I get your point. I guess my “fetish” for lip products during my “mini-diva” days could easily be classified as a mild “addiction”.  😉

Ok, here’s a little 80’s trivia for ya….

Can you name the 80’s lip balm brand that came in a fashionable tin can?

That’s right! It was Village brand Lip Lickers! Those fun lip balms came in a variety of delicious flavors inside vintage looking, pocket-sized tin cans that would conveniently fit into your cute Jordache purse or those fashionably chic Sassoon Jeans. Oo La La!

Lips that POP make the party ROCK!

Lips that POP make the party ROCK!

Well, because of my “fixation” with lip products, I’m always on the lookout for fabulous new finds. So when I heard about this new product called GlitzyLips™, I was like a moth-to-flame, and wanted to know more about it. Now GlitzyLips™ isn’t lip balm or lip gloss at all. Not even close… Get this; it’s an infallible foil that you can apply to your lips, giving them an incredibly lustrous and shimmering look. You can even use GlitzyLips™ on your nails, or anywhere you need a little glitz and glam.

Glitzy Lips creator Athena Elliott

Glitzy Lips creator Athena Elliott

Glitzy Lips™ creator, Athena Elliott, is also the owner of SPAthena MinxHouston located in my hometown of Houston Texas. SPAthena is the first Certified Medical Nail Technician (MNT) in the country offering “medically safe” manicures and pedicures to doctor referred clientele, as well SPAthena specializes in Minx nails applications. You’ve heard about Minx nails, right? Well, unless you’ve just recently returned from a sabbatical in the Tibetan mountains with Sherpa monks, you know that Minx are those fashionable foil nails that celebs like Beyoncé, Letoya Luckett, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian have been spotted rockin. And, Athena is the “Madam of Minx-ology”, with several of the aforementioned celebs in her star-studded list of exclusive clientele.  So, it’s no surprise that Athena would use her experience and knowledge to create a product that would have the same wow effect as Minx. And voilà, GlitzyLips™ was born!

GlitzyLips keep your lips poppin!

GlitzyLips keep your lips poppin!

I befriended Athena on Facebook several years ago, and I would occasionally check out her posts to see pics of some of her “manicure masterpieces” as well to see what new and exciting things she was doing.

So, when Athena extended me an invitation to attend a launch party in Atlanta for her GlitzyLips™ line, I was super excited to finally meet this pioneering icon in beauty.

These fab ladies were rockin GlitzyLips

The GlitzyLips™ launch was held at J.Mont Studios in Atlanta, and let me tell you, it was definitely (queue Shalamar) “A Night to Remember!” 😀 So as I walked into this jam packed event, my eyes were immediately drawn to the ladies who were wearing GlitzyLips™ on their faces like decorative masquerade masks. Too fab!!! I was eager to meet Athena so I could get the skinny on her fabulous new creation, and also to apologize to her in person for “stalking” her Facebook page for all those years. 😀  So after Athena forgave me 🙂 she offered to apply the GlitzyLips™ on me. Yeahhh! (insert patter clap) .

Here’s how she put on the “Glitz”…

Step One: Make sure the lips are completely clean. You can use a baby wipe to wipe away anything you have on your lips.

Step Two: Smile big and apply the primer to the lips and let dry.
Make sure to hold your smile as wide as possible and be sure not to close your mouth with the primer applied.

Step Three: Apply the GlitzyLips™ lip with the foil side on the lips, making sure to get adequate coverage.

All glitz up and ready to par-tay!

All glitz up and ready to par-tay!

Step Four: Channel your inner Rockstar Goddess, and be the life of the “par-tay”, because “Lips that POP make the party ROCK!”

GlitzyLips™ won’t fade, flake, or foul and lasts for up to 8 hours so you can keep the party going (Lionel Richie style) “All Night Long.” ;-P Hey, I told yall I was an 80’s baby! 😀

Glitzy Lips comes in several fab colors

GlitzyLips™ also comes in a variety of “lip popping” colors such as:

RainbowDar™ – a colorful blend of green, turquoise, blue, purple, red, orange, yellow and gold.
ZunigaBlue™ – a daring light turquoise and teal blue.
WineMeOva™ – a deep, rich, red wine tone.
ReddyOrNot™ – a show stopping sexy red.
PinkRosa™ – a sophisticated icy champagne pink.
CocoGoddess™ – a coco-colored bronze.
PinkCouture™ – a deliciously berry pink tone.
Don’tCopperMe™ – a rich copper sunburst.
SmokeySilver™ – a super sexy gun metal bronze-silver.

I chose the PinkRosa™ since I was channeling my “elegant diva” that night, as I imagined myself sipping on a glass of Bollinger Rosé pink champagne. Cheers ladies!

And speaking of the ladies, I had a great time mingling with several of Atlanta’s most fab divas such as Tami Reed of Talking with Tami, Chic Boutique Tour founder and CEO, Rosalynn Wilson, and Sol Oasis owner KaSundra Anderson.

Ok, so get this… As I walked into the event, all eyes were ON MY LIPS, as I was still wearing my GlitzyLips™ from the launch party earlier. Everyone wanted to know what the heck I had on my lips, since they were STILL poppin like hot-buttered popcorn! POW!!! They asked me about Glitzy Lips™ and where they could get their “lips” on this haute product. 🙂 True story; a lady at the Sole event walks up to me and asks if I was a celebrity… I kid you not! 😀 She said my GlitzyLips™ made me look glamorous and celebrity-like. Follow Me Fridays: Here comes the bride

Black Bride Bridal Showcase

Hey Divas,

As many of you may already know, I recently had my nuptials this past November 20. (Yeah!!!) So, NOW I can proclaim those immortal words of one Ms. Shug Avery in The Color Purple, (clearing throat) …”I’s Married Now!” 😉

But, let me tell you it was no “wedding cake walk” pulling it off either. Now, I’m no Bridezilla by any means, but I can see how any “bride-to-be” attempting to plan her own wedding could quickly shed her wedding dress for more reptilian-esque garb, 😀 because planning a wedding has got to be the up there with the likes of, say…medieval torture techniques. 😐 So I applaud all the ladies who survived their wedding preparation stage, as well as those who managed to make it through to their wedding receptions without making the 10 o’clock news. But for those of you out there, like me, who were one misplaced orchid away from a starring role in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, “we” NOW understand how important it is to leave all the stressful work to the wedding professionals.

Wouldn't you like to see this gorgeous arrangement on your honeymoon bed?

Wouldn't you like to see this gorgeous arrangement on your honeymoon bed?

And speaking of wedding professionals, I recently attended Black Bride ’s 2nd Annual Bridal Showcase at the beautiful Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel in Downtown Atlanta where top wedding professionals, vendors, and guests converged for a showcase unlike any I have ever experienced. Black Bride CEO, Mary Chatman, looks to dispel the myth that “Black women are not getting married” by creating a showcase that offers ‘brides-to-be’ a wealth of resources to help make their dreams of a perfect wedding a reality.

Black Bride provides definitive vendor resources for culturally diverse brides in every aspect of wedding planning, including new trends in fashion, designer wedding gowns, photography, accessories, food, honeymoon travel, destination weddings and much more.

Isn't this absolutely beautiful!

Isn't this absolutely beautiful!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Chatman a few weeks prior at the “Beauty & The Bride” event at Polished Beauty Lounge, and she personally extended me an invitation to this fabulous event, which I must say was somewhat bittersweet for me since I could have definitely benefitted from an event like this when I was planning my own wedding.

So, upon entering the grand ballroom inside the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel, I felt like the proverbial kid in a candy store as I strolled throughout the venue intermingling with all the unique vendors while experiencing all the beautiful exhibits and fabulous products on display such as custom dolls dressed to look like the bride, fabulous jewelry and accessories, commemorative items, and dazzling tablescapes that could easily grace the cover of any design magazine.

Thanks to the fab Tamika Morrison of T. Morrison Agency and the amazing Mary Chapman of Black Bride for inviting me to this incredible event. Well, after attending this marvelous display of nuptial-related goodies, I’ve humbly developed an appreciation for letting those with more experience (and sanity) coordinate a major event like a wedding. And, although I’ve already jumped the broom, I may pull a Jackie Christie and renew my vows each year just so I can take advantage of all these fabulous new finds.

Romance is in the air! Yes ladies, it’s that time of year again when we celebrate our love for that special someone in our lives. It’s time to break out that haute dress, those sexy pumps and channel our inner vixen for a day of excitement and passion.

Valentine’s Day is synonymous with the color red, and the day is often surrounded by crimson-colored symbols such as hearts, red roses, and all types of decadent goodies that have come to signify this day of love. Red is also a very mysterious and alluring tone, and it definitely begs for attention in any setting. And although it’s a traditional hue for Heart-Day; this year I’m gonna “trust my instincts” and go bold in a color that screams passion… Purple!

And let me tell ya; I am a bit overdue on the bold. 🙂 I mean, the last time my look was teetering on “bold” was sometime during the late 80’s when I rocked this multi-tiered asymmetrical bob hairstyle, which made me look like the fourth (and forgotten) member of Salt-N-Pepa. And, unfortunately there’s an innumerable amount of photos floating amongst friends and family to validate my fashion faux pas from the “Push-It” years. 😛  But, not to worry divas, you won’t ever see me rockin the bob hairdo ever again. No ma’am! I’m aiming for more fierce, more daring, more passion this go ‘round, and I know just the look to pull it off.

The luxurious Ellis Hotel in downtown Atlanta

I’m thinking dinner at the luxurious Ellis Hotel in downtown Atlanta overlooking Peachtree Street atop the upscale Terrace Restaurant. Its enchanting ambiance is the consummate setting for an evening filled with romance. And speaking of which, I’d loved to cap off my night of passion in a deluxe suite at the Ellis Hotel, complete with a rose petal covered bed, decadent chocolates, and a glass of Merlot. A suite at the Ellis Hotel would definitely serve as the perfect backdrop with its boutique sophistication, hip décor, and trendy flair.

Marvelous!!!

Well, now that I’m feeling all lovey-dovey and looking fab-o-licious;
it’s time to flaunt my stuff Salt-N-Pepa-style. “Ooo Baby Baby!!!”

Work It Wednesdays: Take your savings to the Maxx!

T.J. Maxx

Well ladies and gents, we are officially into the New Year, which means we’ve survived yet another holiday season! Yeahhh!!! But, as much as I would love to revel in this great victory it is with great somber that I reflect upon it, as unfortunately I lost a few good soldiers on the “shopping battlefield”. Privates Jefferson, Franklin, and Lincoln; your bravery and valor will not be forgotten, as you all put up a valiant fight to stay inside my wallet. You will all be sorely missed. 🙁

So as February begins, and we slowly embark on the upcoming Spring/Summer shopping season, let’s honor our fallen comrades by…doing a little bit of shopping! Yep. But, not just any bargain binging…No, no, no. This my lovelies, is gonna require a more strategic plan of attack; and I know just the place to wage this “war on retail”. Are you with me? Let’s go!!!

Danielle and Lexi striking a pose

Danielle and Lexi striking a pose

Last month I was invited to an event called “New Year, New You” at the T.J.Maxx store at Perimeter Center in Dunwoody, which was being hosted by Lexi (LexiWithTheCurls) of Curls, Coils & Kinks and Danielle Gray of The Style & Beauty Doctor. The event brought out some of Atlanta’s hautest fashionistas and beauty bloggers, and featured “magnificently marked-down merchandise” (try saying THAT more than once) for the beauty and fashion maven with designer tastes, but a not-so-designer budget. I had the pleasure of meeting both Lexi and Danielle a few days prior as they hosted an event at Sole Atlanta in Atlantic Station to wrap up 2011. We had such a fabulous time at the Sole Atlanta event that I knew this one would be even more fab!

Hey ladies; It's savings time!

Hey ladies; It's savings time!

Danielle kicked off the event from within The Runway at T.J. Maxx, which is T.J. Maxx’s exclusive department filled with the same contemporary, Italian and couture fashions that you’d see in upscale department stores and boutiques, but for up to 65% off their prices. No worries…I’ll give you a few moments before we continue so you can pick your jaw up from the floor. 😀 So, you’re telling me I can get designer fashions for well over half off the price of retail stores? This was definitely a “What you talkin bout Willis!” moment. 😀 Danielle went on to explain that T.J. Maxx/Marshalls fills each of their stores with over 10,000 new items each week, so shoppers will always have the latest selection of the hautest trends for the season. Oui Oui Oulala… C’est Magnifique!!! (Thank Rosetta Stone for that one) 😛

So after we regained consciousness 😀 , Danielle presented a few pieces that she pulled from the racks a bit earlier to show us what type of styles and designer selections that were at our fingertips. A few of her fabulous finds were a Chloe shoulder bag marked down to $799 from $1,299, a Z Spoke Ostrich skin bag, and a pair of red pumps (sorry, didn’t get the name of these beauties ;-(, but as you can see they are super haute!).

WOW!!! This Chloe shoulder bag is marked down from $1299 to $799.

Next up was Lexi who informed the ladies that T.J. Maxx/Marshalls also carries name brand beauty, hair care, skin care and even makeup products at…you guessed it, up to 60% off their retail prices! And you can even find items that are slashed even more, so the savings just keep on coming!

Let the bidding wars begin!

Let the bidding wars begin!

After we got the skinny on all the deals and discoveries to be found at T.J. Maxx, it was time for a game of “The Off-Price is Right”, where the contestant who comes the closest to the discounted price of a select item, won the item. On the bidding block was a cook book, a DKNY wallet, and Jennifer Lopez Glamour parfum. I must say, the bidding was rather intense and could easily rival that of Storage Wars alum Dave Hester and Darryl Sheets’ classic battles. 😀 But, as with all contest there can be only be one winner (in this case several), and a few lucky ladies walked away with the coveted prizes.

And in the spirit of competition, Danielle invited all guests to participate in a fashion challenge whereby each guest was instructed to put together a head-to-toe outfit to be judged by most stylish at least price, with the winning ensemble to receive a $25 T.J. Maxx gift card. Sounds simple, right? Well, participants were given a mere 12 minutes to pull it off. Talk about pressure… And with the vast selection of fabulous items at our disposal, this was definitely gonna be a “challenge’.

So off we went like a pack of ravenous she-wolves in search of the nights catch. And, our delightful prey was hanging from the racks right before us. This was beginning to look a little too easy as all of us were seasoned bargain hunters and knew a thing or two about rack surfing. 😛

Times up ladies!

Check out this cute ensemble that I put together

Check out this cute ensemble that I put together

Well, it was now time to see what we each of the ladies came back with. All of the ladies did a fabulous job of put together cute outfits. I found a classy Ralph Lauren dress that I paired with a purple cardigan sweater, a cute beaded necklace, and a pair of scorchin hot Jessica Simpson patent-leather pumps. Smokin!!! And, because ALL the ladies’ picks were so fab, the judges would choose three winners to each receive a $25 gift card. And the winners are…Eboni (Fashionista Next Door), Tia (If I Were a Brit Girl), and Tiffani (Taste Maker Magazine)! But, after the lucky winners were announced, Danielle, in classic “Oprah-style”, surprises everyone by announcing “You get a gift card, and you get a gift card, and you get a gift card!” (Insert dramatic fainting) 😀 Each of us received a $25 T.J. Maxx gift card!!! YEAHHH!!!

Thanks Lexi and Danielle for such a wonderful and fun-filled event! I had a great time mixing and mingling with all of the fab bloggers, and discovering all the super deals and fashion finds at T.J. Maxx/Marshalls. I’ve been a frequent shopper at T.J. Maxx for quite a while now, and I will continue to take my savings to the Maxx!
