The Chic Boutique Tour hits Atlanta’s hautest spots for fashion

Chic Boutique Tour

The pink carpet was literally rolled out as the Chic Boutique Tour hit Atlanta’s premiere boutiques for a day of fun and shopping, shopping, shopping!!!

The Chic Boutique Tour is by far THE most unique shopping experience I have ever had!

Just envision this scenario; you (and your fellow explorers) board a tour bus (vessel) as if you were “Jacquelyn” Cousteau (stay with me here), in search of fabulous finds all around the city (or in this case the Galapagos Islands). All the while you’d be uncovering rare and exotic species (boutiques) of which you’d be more than eager to share these new found discoveries.

So, not only were we exposed to wonderful boutiques that we may not have known about otherwise, but we did so in a comfy, relaxing and fun atmosphere while being chauffeured around in celebrity-esque fashion. Eat your heart out Hollywood!

Add a few cocktails, some yummy treats, prizes, a few giveaways, and you would never look at shopping the same way again…and/or you may never want to go home (speaking in first person by the way). ;-P

Now that you get the picture….let’s move on.

From the moment we set foot in each boutique, we were treated like A-list celebrities at a post-Grammy’s party. We were all given the quintessential VIP treatment as they truly pulled out all the stops to show each of us a fabulous time…Oh, and we also received 20% off our purchases for the day…Hmmm…This excursion just turned into a “Deals on Wheels”, OR, since there were fab ladies on board it could be dubbed “Heels on Wheels”. 😀

Ok, let me give you the details….

Coposhi boutique in Buckhead

Coposhi boutique in Buckhead

The tour began at Coposhi Boutique in the heart of Buckhead. You remember Coposhi right?…That swanky, happenin boutique that is redefining the word “cool”. Check out the Coposhi write-up (here) to see why they ARE “The New Cool”!

Ladies sashay on the pink carpet. Work it girls!

So, upon entering this happenin spot; guests were greeted by a pink carpet runway which begged for a sashaying, and there were plenty fab ladies present to accommodate!

Hpnotiq with their new Harmonie flavor

Hpnotiq with their new Harmonie flavor

Hpnotiq was there to introduce their Harmonie drink which is the latest addition to their Girls Night Out line. This new flavor was so refreshing, and it also has a very girly appeal to it with its violet color and a blend of floral and natural fruit infused flavoring.

Tour guests pose with VitaminWater

VitaminWater was also in attendance to promote their Glow flavor. Two words…D-lish! I remember the Glow flavor from the VitaminWater Inspired Fashion Show where local fashion designer Dwayne Woodard presented his fab interpretation of the Glow flavor in this one of a kind piece.

So, after a few cocktails, sweet treats and mingling, it was time to board the glam bus and do some shopping!

What time is it? Giveaway time!!!

What time is it? Giveaway time!!!

On the bus we enjoyed more cocktails while watching the movie “Jumping the Broom”. While we were in route to our next destination, Rosalynn Wilson, Founder and CEO of Chic Boutique Tour, emceed with giveaways and prizes. When it was time for a giveaway, Rosalynn would shout out “Guess what time it is?” And the ladies would respond with “Giveaway Time!!!” We had so much fun!

PZI Jeans has all of your curves covered

PZI Jeans has all of your curves covered

So, once we reached our first destination PZI Jeans, located on Hugh Howell, Rd in Tucker, GA we were pumped and ready to shop.

Tour guests at PZI Jeans

Tour guests at PZI Jeans

PZI Jeans carries styles for voluptuously curvy Diva’s (like myself of course). Three words…Fine-All-Lee! It’s great to find a store with trendy styled jeans… that I can actually wear.

Nikka Shae trying on a pair of PZI Jeans

Nikka Shae trying on a pair of PZI Jeans

Now don’t get me wrong…I love my grandmother dearly, but I shouldn’t be forced to wear her style of denim (high waisted “grandma” jeans) because there are no clothiers out there that cater to women with curves. Well fret no more. PZI Jeans are not styled for generations past. And, they are available in sizes 4-18 and comfortably designed for short, regular, long AND extra long legs; and women who have a little more junk in their trunk. ;-P Check them out. I promise you will never look at denim the same way again.

Exclusive pieces on display at Estella's

So after my brief love affair with PZI Jeans, we boarded the glam bus and headed to our next destination, Estella Boutique and Closet located in historic downtown Roswell on Canton Street.

I had the pleasure of visiting Estella’s several months back, when they hosted a swanky toast-n-taste soirée called “Girls Night Out”. Dubbed “Hollywood on Canton Street”, Estella’s quaint boutique boasts about the exclusivity of their pieces since many of the items were actually used in music videos and photo shoots, as revealed by Estella’s owner and celebrity stylist Tameka Raymond.

Last stop on the tour was Polished & Primped nail bar and boutique located inside the Plaza Midtown building near downtown Atlanta. What a neat concept; fabulous shopping and a full service nail bar…in the same place!

With their uber-chic and glamorous setting, entering Polished & Primped felt like I had just walked into my dream boudoir. The décor is sooo exquisite. They’ve gone out of their way to create a very romantic aura with dimly lit back-lighting that displays their garments and accessories in a “come-hither” manner that begs for a closer look.

Chef Shombe's cobbler was a hit with the ladies

Chef Shombe's cobbler was a hit with the ladies

Now, back on the “Diva Express”, while headed back to Coposhi, we were treated to the most decadent peach cobbler this side of Grandma’s treasured recipe. Chef Shombe’s Catering provided this wonderful delicacy that absolutely melted in my mouth! Their slogan is “A taste you won’t forget!”… Well, after my first bite and for a brief moment I I couldn’t remember where I was. 😀 As you can imagine there wasn’t much chatter amongst the ladies during this time, but, you could faintly hear the melody of cherubs serenading us with each bite. 😀

"Giveaway Goddess" Rosalynn kept the ladies focused with prizes

So, after the heavens smiled upon us, we were ready for another giveaway…Hit it Rosalynn!!! 😀

As we returned to Coposhi, we were treated to a wonderful candy bar, and a special treat made with Hpnotiq Harmonie called Cocktail Cupcakes. You heard me correctly…These bite sized beauties are inspired by cocktail drinks…and they’re made with real alcohol! Brittany Wyatt, the owner and creator of this fabulous treat, explained the concept behind her creation and all the wonderful flavors they offer. Happy hour wrapped in sweetness! I’ll toast to that!!! ;-P

I had a wonderful time with all the fab ladies on the tour. I would like to thank Rosalynn Wilson of Chic Boutique Tour (better known as the Giveaway Goddess 😛 ), and Jackie O of 4Sight Media (who handled the PR duties), for putting together such a wonderful and fun event!!! I had a blast, and look forward to the next tour on November 12, 2011!!!

It was great to mingle and network with so many fabulous women, and shop like there was no tomorrow! And with a portion of the proceeds going to the Lupus Foundation of America, it was definitely worth it!

GoodGirlPR (@GoodGirlPR) and H.A.U.T.E. hosted a #HAUTEBEAUTY Tweet Up, with manicures, massages, and cocktails at Pampered Nail and Body Spa (@pamperedatl) in the Castleberry Hills district of Atlanta. The Atlanta event was part of a three region Tweet Up with additional events in a New York City (Deva Spa), and Washington D.C. Metro Area (Essential Essence Salon and Day Spa).

Spa owner Yolanda Owens (@Pamperedatl) has a definite gem on her hands (pun intended). The ambiance was very tranquil and mood setting with its water features and Asian inspired decorum; and the seating was oh-so comfy and easy on the hind-quarters (LOL)…I wanted to just curl up in the corner and catch a few Zzz’s… But, as there was some pampering to indulge in I opted to stay awake for a bit.

Pampered Nail and Body Spa provided the Tweet Up guests with complimentary hand scrubs, massages, manicures and pedicures. Oh My!!! They’re also eco friendly and use natural/organic products and soaks. What a great place to kick back and relax with good company.:-D

Yaya, whom I hereby dub “the lady with the golden touch”, gave me a great hand and foot massage using a lime body scrub and massage oils by iwi Fresh (@iwiFresh). These products are simply exhilarating! And since they are are non-toxic, you walk away feeling truly refreshed and rejuvenated.

Nothing says complete relaxation more than this

So, after my moment of sheer bliss, I felt like the Queen of Pamperville as I sat atop the throne of indulgence. 😀 And what could make this moment feel even more regal, than a Tweet to my Tweeps (try saying that fast :-D) about all the pampering and fun times we were having! 😛

During the event I meet several beauty industry editors and bloggers including Uptown Atlanta Magazine (@uptownmagazine) editor and author Ronda Penrice, Eugenia Johnson (@eugeniajPR) – Jr. Publicist for The Garner Circle (@thegarnercircle), Marketing Entrepreneur & Social Informer – Tara Holland (@wordofmouthatl), Upscale Magazine (@UpscaleMagazine) Beauty & Lifestyle editor – Tamara Crockett (@TalkOfTheTam), Natural hair bloggers Leah (@naturallyfierce) and Monica Joy from KnapsGirl (@knapsgirl), and writer Brittney Greene (@BrittneyGreene).

These types of events are always a great opportunity to network with other women in the ATL that are doing their thing!

I would like to thank Alisha Nesbitt of Enchanted Events of Atlanta for the invite. I had a wonderful time and the swag bags were a nice topper for the night.

The sweetest happy hour you will ever taste by Cocktail Cupcakes

The sweetest happy hour you will ever taste by Cocktail Cupcakes

Now, it’s no secret that I absolutely LOVE cupcakes. In fact, it’s gotten so bad that I have several cupcaterers on speed dial in my Onstar navigation system. True story. And I’m always in search of the fresh and new around ATL, so it didn’t help that there were so many sweet treats in the house such as Cocktail Cupcakes by Brittany Wyatt. Now, if you’ve never heard of Cocktail Cupcakes let me give you the “juice”. Cocktail Cupcakes are just like their name suggests…cupcakes inspired by cocktail drinks. YES! Happy hour wrapped in sweetness! These little bite-sized goodies taste exactly like the mixed drinks they’re named after (they have over 20 flavors to choose from), and they’re also made with real alcohol! Bottoms up!!! So, after a few shots of the Champagne and Strawberry Daiquiri cupcakes ;-P, I was in cupcake heaven.

OK Brittany, you are officially dialed in to my short list of go-to cupcaterers! And, don’t worry…I will only call you twice a week for a restock ( I’m cutting back a lot as you can see 😛 ).

Other goodies on the menu were Kheesekakes by Kelli, and Confections of a Sugarholic by Crystal Fox. Kelli Fair, from Kheesecakes by Kelli, makes the most decadent mini cheesecake bites…OMG! And she was also a blast to talk to! So after sampling Kelli’s cheesecakes, I had officially reached my sugar threshold for the eve and was soon teetering on lapsing into a fructose induced coma; which by the way is becoming an all too familiar event for me lately. 😐

Meeting Crystal Griffin, owner of Crystyles Boutique, was a great experience. Cystal is such a sweetheart and she invited me to her upcoming one year anniversary party. Stay tuned for the details. The boutique has some great pieces in the most fashionable trends…and affordable, which my wallet loves. I had my eye on a fab pair of heels that had a leopard print lace bottom with gold bangles that drape the ankle…BAD!!! And since I’m a card carrying member of Accessories Anonymous (AA) you know I couldn’t pass up the accessory display. And Crystal’s assistant Sean kept me laughing all night considering my wallet would soon be in tears! 😛

Is the Grass Greener on the other side? L.A. Bonds has the answer.

Green Grass Gospel stage play by Playwright LA Bonds

Nikka Shae with Diva Extraordinaire L.A. Bonds at the Green Grass premiere

Nikka Shae with Diva Extraordinaire L.A. Bonds at the Green Grass premiere

While attending the Heeling Diabetes Shoenista Auction hosted by Nyasia Bowen and Nadia Matthews; and just after having snagged a pair of fabulous red suede stilettos in a bidding war that would rival the likes of Dave Hester and Darrell Sheets of Storage Wars (A&E); I had the pleasure of meeting playwright L.A. Bonds who was in the house to support the foundation and to also pick up a pair of beauties for her own collection. During our conversation, Ms. Bonds explained that she’d written a Gospel stage play called “Green Grass” that she would also be directing. Both Writer and Director?…Watch out Mr Perry! 😀 L.A. extended  an invitation for me to attend the premiere the following month of which I graciously accepted. Obviously I was very excited as I couldn’t wait to see what Ms. Bonds had in store. And, since it was a Gospel stage play I knew it would no doubt deliver with both comedy and “sangin” (spelled correctly).

Publicist Nadia Matthews and L.A. Bonds

Publicist Nadia Matthews and L.A. Bonds

So, let’s fast forward a bit to the “Green Grass” premiere which was set at the 7 Stages Theatre in Little Five Points. The storyline evolved inside Police Precinct 10 and addresses the ups and downs of what is referred to as the “Three S’s” of relationships; being single (dating), being settled (married), and searching (looking for love). And as you can imagine there was plenty of hilarity on set as the production exposé was filled with both thought provoking and knee slapping skits that attempt to answer the all-encompassing question “Is the grass greener on the other side?”.

The production featured the following  actors:

LaShonda Jones as Alexandria Simmons
Tim Tillman as Calvin Simmons
Brkal Burch  as Isaiah Smith
LuJuana Haynes as Aunaysha Robinson
Ka’dell “Kwame” Ervin as Jeremy McCullough
Kym Becton as Carmen Smith
Mark Rock Nelson as Pastor Green
Courtland B. Toney as Wayne Johnson

Now, here’s the play’s synopsis:

Anything can happen at Precinct 10! Three African-American women deal with dating, marriage, and the many perils of being open to love. Whether it’s learning to love again after infidelity or balancing new relationships and a new marriage, Green Grass revolves around the universal question “Is the grass greener on the other side?”.

L.A. Bonds takes a bow with the cast of Green Grass

L.A. Bonds takes a bow with the cast of Green Grass

Alexandria is an unabashed gold digger who married Atlanta’s finest, Chief Calvin Simmons and is in constant denial of her true intentions on marrying him.  Carmen is the recently promoted Assistant Chief Of Police who is bright, principled, and interested in rekindling the fire back into her marriage, but she isn’t about to compromise her Christianity beliefs to accommodate some of the foolish ways of her husband. Aunaysha is the precinct receptionist, who is eager to be in a committed relationship but lacks a little bit of grace and eloquence not only in her love life, but in the workplace as well. Pastor Green, the voice of reasoning, guides each woman to rediscover their hearts desire concerning love with fearlessness and sincerity.

Green Grass cast members break out in song

This play definitely takes on universal issues that interest all women. Each woman explores the many trials and tribulations that most women face today in relationships. Whether it’s considering divorce, re-marrying or simply looking for true love, Green Grass delivers along with comedy and wit.

Green Grass is a production of L.A. Bonds Studios and Ebony Vanguard Productions.

Writer and Director L.A. Bonds

Writer and Director L.A. Bonds

Writer, Director, and Entrepreneur L.A. Bonds is definitely making her mark on the Gospel stage play circuit and doing it in Diva-esque style! Look for more from L.A. Bonds Studios as they have a few upcoming productions due to hit the stage in the coming months. And, if they’re anything like Green Grass, L.A. Bonds can confidently answer the question “Is the grass greener on the other side?” with a definite YES!

LA Lynn's Accessory Shoppe

Accessories Anonymous members LA Lynn and Nikka Shae

Accessories Anonymous members LA Lynn and Nikka Shae

Earlier this month I attended the one year anniversary revival-extravaganza 😀 for  Finding Eve Soul Café, and I was so overjoyed during the celebration that in my moment of jubilee I began to jump, shout, praise, and worship. My chiropractor states that I’m doing much better now, and that I should be back at 100% very soon. 😛 Unfortunately the woman seated in front of me at the celebration was on the receiving end of a good majority of my shouting and may have suffered temporary deafness as a result. Luckily I had the pleasure of talking to this lady prior to my uncontrollable fit of excitement. She introduced herself as Efie Lynn and stated that she is the “She-EO” of an online boutique called LA Lynn’s Accessory Shoppe.

And at that moment I immediately knew she was a card carrying member of AA (Accessories Anonymous):-D. So during our conversation about what else; jewelry, Lynn mentioned that she would be having a bday bash and launch party for her business the following week. I told her that I would definitely be in attendance, as there are two things that I absolutely cannot say no to…a party with jewelry and accessories and/or jewelry and accessories at a party. I will give you a few moments to catch that one. 😀

So, Hubby in tow, I arrived at Lynn’s BORN day party (as she calls it) only to see a smorgasbord of cute accessories that were laid out like the fixin’s at the Ponderosa. 😀 Now I haven’t dined at the Ponderosa in many a year, and using the word “fixin’s” is generally reserved for intimate conversations among close friends and family….but my point is that Lynn carries some of the most fab and unique pieces around and I was more than willing to indulge in the buffet. 😛

So as I perused through the selection, a pair of peacock feathered beauties immediately caught my eye, and were “cawing” my name. 😀 Then I “spotted” (last one, I promise) several pearled and multi-colored statement pieces that swoop the neckline…F.A.B!!! LA Lynn’s also carries bold metal, wooden, and marble bangles that would be sure to turn a head or two and/or cause instant envy from onlookers.

I immediately thought…Now, who’s been keeping LA Lynn’s Accessory Shoppe “confidential” and not sharing this little gem…hmmmm? Well, the secret is out! You can thank me later. 😀

Rock Your Red Shoes

Rock Your Red Shoes

Hey Divas!

My good friend Nicole Anderson Land from Cross Walk Shop wants us (women) to “Rock Your Red Shoes” all day on August 26th, 2011 in celebration of Women’s Equality Day.

This is a great opportunity for women ALL OVER THE WORLD to acknowledge the sacrifices that others have made to ensure that ALL women be treated as equals…. So, in the spirit of this momentous event, let us all unite for a day of liberation and celebration by rockin our red shoes,  red heels, and red pumps! Oh my!!

So, I contacted my OTHER good friend, DL Winfrey of PrettyGirlsRockDresses.com (I have quite a few believe it or not :-D), to help get the word out on the social media networks about this monumental endeavor. Of course pretty girls rock dresses, and apparently they also rock red shoes as DL was more than willing to help spread the word.

Ok ladies, let’s dust off those baaad “red head-turners”; those sexy “red-alerts”; and those hot “vixen red showstoppers” (you know…the ones that you’ve been saving for that special occasion).

As a bonus…

Send me a pic of you rockin your red shoes and I will post them on my site.

Please include your Twitter or Facebook link so I can show everyone who has the “baddest pair” on the blog. 😀

Send pics to ohnikkashae [at] yahoo.com

Disclaimer (gotta have one)

* Please, please please…no lewd or nude pics ladies… Keep those for the “celebration” after the celebration. 😛

* Only one pic per email… So make it your fav!

Hmmm… I already have a pair in mind that I picked up at the Heeling Diabetes Shoenista auction last month.

Call the fire department cause they’re pretty HAUTE!!!
