What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… Well; it’s easier than it sounds. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the need for unwritten codes of secrecy, and all that… But after a weekend getaway exploring The Strip (or Strippin’ as I call it), keeping my Vegas vacay hush-hush is literally impossible. With all the lights and sights it’s very easy to get caught up in the excitement. It only takes a moment to get lured in, and before you know it you’re two hours in at the slots and debating on taking yet another cash advance. (Hides face in embarrassment) So before you take on Sin City check out these valuable tips on how to go Strippin’ in Fabulous Las Vegas (fully clothed of course). 😉
Take in the view!
With flocks of passersby on the street, it’s difficult to appreciate the beauty of The Strip from below. There are many ways to take in the sights along Las Vegas Blvd without all of the walking. You can opt to overlook the scene from a cool rooftop pool, or get a room with a view. My preference– enjoying a panoramic view behind a plate of fabulous French-inspired cuisine high atop the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris Hotel. !Bon Appétit What to try: French BLT Tower. One bite and you’ll wish the day would never end. 🙂
Relax… It’s Vegas!
After a full day of shopping, sightseeing, and halfhearted attempts at dodging the slots, you’re gonna wanna kick up your heels and relax. And nothing is more soothing to your soles than comfortable digs. Hey, underestimating just how much walking is involved in Vegas can be a huge mistake. Comfort and convenience is key here. So to pamper my heels, I opted for a stay at the fabulous Italian-themed Venetian Hotel (an InterContinental Alliance Resort). Located in the heart of the Vegas strip, the luxurious Venetian offers an opulent escape from the bustle of The Strip. Their posh suites are absolutely gorgeous and relaxing, and perfect to sneak in a few midday Zzz’s before taking on the Vegas nightlife. What to try: Take a gondola ride and cruise the canal in style. Expect a few lots of envious onlookers.
Indulge… It’s Vegas!
I must admit that it’s not easy (for me) to steer clear of all the fabulous shopping and other enticing girlie goodies that Vegas has to offer. Hey, it doesn’t take long before I get caught craving a quick fashion fix at the nearest mall. So, to curb my brand obsession I escaped to the Esplanade at Encore & Wynn resorts. I mean, these haute spots are a luxe lover’s dream. There are sooo many luxury brands to shop like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Chanel just to name a few. But, if your wallet isn’t up to the task, no worries. With lush surroundings, gorgeous waterfalls, and lavish gardens in view, the beautiful ambiance of the Espalande provides the perfect backdrop for a selfie session. Now, if you’re traveling with your boo, you have to carve out some fun for him to get his indulge on too. And I know a few spots that will make your man feel like he’s king of the hill. First up on the man-scapade is Andre’s Cigar Lounge. Located in the marvelous Monte’ Carlo hotel, Andre’s Cigar Lounge is a must try for the man with exquisite tastes. Offering a collection of rare Cognac, Scotch Whiskey, Single Malt Scotch, Armagnac and extremely coveted cigars, Andre’s is the place to lounge with libations in hand and time to burn. Hubby swears by the Padron 1926 Perfecto and Courvoisier Napoleon. And ladies, they also have a fab selection of wine and spirits, so exercise your Right to Riesling and indulge in a sip (or four). 😛 If your boo is a beer lover, look no further than Banger Brewery on Fremont Street. With a sinful selection of craft beers on tap, Banger Brewery is the perfect toast to a much needed getaway. You can even get a guided tour of the beer making process while you’re there. So ping a pint, and enjoy a sip of the hippest hops this side of heaven. What to try: Hop Bang Boom IPA and Perfect 10 Pale Ale… No explanation necessary. 😉 An added treat to try: POPPED Dill Pickle-Flavor Popcorn… OMG!!! Don’t be shocked if after a bite you random hug the person seated next to you. 🙂
Chow…baby!
When it comes to Vegas, there’s no better place to dine. Period. With such a vast variety of palate pleasing options with tastes from all over the world, Vegas is your passport to chic eats. I absolutely love French cuisine, and I couldn’t think of a better place to satisfy my fix for French fare than at the fabulous Mon Ami Gabi. Located at the bottom of the Paris Hotel & Eiffel Tower, Mon Ami Gabi offers a casual French Bistro experience that’s simply !magnifique! What to try: Bananas Foster at breakfast. Rise and dine! You can even transport your taste buds from Sin City to the Pacific Rim at the lavish TAO Restaurant & Lounge located inside the Venetian Hotel. Century-old woods, waterfalls, stone sculptures, and a hand-carved 20-foot tall signature Buddha that “floats” peacefully above a Japanese koi-filled infinity pool welcomes you into TAO’s lush lounge. What to try: TAO Lo Mein with Roast Pork. Drool factor/10. If you prefer a smorgasbord for supper, then a buffet is more your craving. Most hotels in Vegas have a buffet, but that’s where the similarities stop because not all buffets are the same. The food options are endless and vary based on the buffets theme. I opted for the buffet with the fab factor of ‘most chic eating experience in town,’ and that was The Buffet at Wynn. The ambiance was absolutely gorgeous! I felt like I was in some magical land where delicious dishes and decadent treats were the order of the day….every day. What to try: Everything! Strippin’ in Las Vegas shouldn’t feel like a high stakes gamble. With proper planning and a solid strategy you can take on Sin City, and win! Lucky for me I scored some free IHG Rewards Club points that I redeemed for my Vegas getaway, AND I even walked away with plenty points to spare. JACKPOT!!! And, it was super easy and free to join. How it works is you book a stay at any of IHG’s 4,700 hotels around the globe and earn points for your stay. What’s cool is that your points can be used for lots of things like merchandise, travel, Rewards Nights, and more. How chic is that!?! Personally, I’m racking up my points for a trip back to Sin City. There are a lot more places I want to see and things to try… and plenty more “Strippin” to do. Well… you know what I mean… 😀
