♫ New York, New York!
By the time you read this post I will be taking a bite out of the Big Apple…again! That’s right! This week I will be headed back the NYC and taking on Manhattan again during Full Figured Fashion Week. All week I will be bringing you all the sights and splendor of fabulous New York City. I will also take you along with me with access to exclusive events surrounding #FFFWeek. So without further ado, let the fun begin!
The City… in Style!
After I touched down in The City, I was greeted by my wonderful driver for the day, Melvin from Blacklane Limousine, who escorted me to a fabulously comfortable car chariot! Blacklane Limousine has a fabulous fleet of luxury cars to shuttle you around town in style. They offer customized, comfortable and discreet transport service in a sophisticated setting at fabulous prices. Hey, if you’ve ever been to New York City you know how crazy the traffic is, and there’s no better way to enjoy the city views than from the back seat of a luxury coach. Thanks to Blacklane Limousine for providing me with a luxuriously comfortable ride after an exhausting flight. The entire booking experience was super easy and stress-free. You can even book your chariot using their convenient smartphone app! Now that’s what I call service with style!
So, after departing LaGuardia, we headed to Manhattan’s Hamilton Heights district near historic Harlem where a fabulous Brownstone awaited my four day stay. The place was absolutely gorgeous and conveniently located just steps from famed Broadway Ave.
I had a busy schedule ahead so I decided to recharge my batteries (and MY own batteries), before heading out on the second leg of my NYC adventure. The Plaza Hotel was next on the agenda, but before I reached my destination I made a few stops along the way. The famed Columbus Circle monument and USS Maine Monument provided the perfect distraction for a few quick snaps.
The Plaza
If you’re a Sex in the City-zen like me, you know all about the Plaza Hotel. Located on Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, the famed Plaza Hotel is the location where Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) said her goodbye’s to Mr. Big… It’s also the place where Mr. Big hosted his engagement party – to another girl! The Plaza Hotel also played host to a precocious Kevin McAllister (Macaulay Culkin) who found himself left alone (again), this time in the Big Apple in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Well, unlike both Carrie and Kevin, the Plaza left me with much fonder memories. As expected, the ambiance was absolutely amazing! While I was there I decided to officially toast to my NYC adventure before parting to yet another Sex in the City landmark, Bergdorf Goodman. Located just across from beautiful Pulitzer Fountain on 5th Avenue, and best known for it’s eye-catching window displays, Bergdorf Goodman is the ultimate ladies shopping destination which “carries” (no pun intended) luxury brands like Jimmy Choo, Prada, Gucci, and Valentino to name a few. So after experiencing a literal ‘shoe-gasm’ at their gasp-worthy collection of haute heels, I enjoyed tasty macaroons and other decadent bites during an afternoon high tea affair at the store’s elegant BG Restaurant.
The Park
Nothing says you’re in New York like a stroll through Central Park (or in my case… a quick peek and a few poses) 🙂 Well, Central Park definitely did not disappoint. I was able to catch a few candid moments at the Grand Army Plaza monument and Pulitzer Fountain before my “stroll” to The Pond for a breathtaking waterfront view overlooking Central Park.
What an amazing experience. I had sooo much fun! Now if you’ll excuse me, I got a date with the Calgon lady… Take me away; …NOW!!!! 😀
Stay tuned as I take you on even more exciting excursions during my NYC adventure.
