If you already make an effort to frequent eco-friendly businesses and eat locally sourced food, you’re in luck. Making ethical dining choices just got easier for Atlantan’s, thanks to the arrival of True Food Kitchen. The national restaurant chain’s newest location at the newly renovated and refreshed Lenox Square Mall definitely lives up to the hype. And if their exclusive pre-launch event was any indication of the quality that diners can expect, Atlanta is in for a real treat.
True Food Kitchen, the culinary collaboration and concept of restaurateur Sam Fox and Dr. Andrew Weil, features dishes that closely adhere to the principles of Dr. Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet. With unique dishes influenced by Mediterranean, Asian and Californian cuisine, True Food Kitchen serves up a broad selection of sumptuous offerings that are sourced locally, made-from-scratch, and prepped to order. Selections include soups, appetizers, salads, pasta, rice and noodle dishes, wood grilled dishes, sandwiches and burgers, brick oven pizzas and decadent desserts. And True Food Kitchen’s efforts to promote environmental awareness through cuisine are not lost in the taste as their dishes are equally as healthy and nutrient rich as they are flavorful.
Upon entering the restaurant, patrons are welcomed into a clean, colorful, and comfy garden-style setting. The table-side ambiance of True Food Kitchen is very refreshing, but you immediately sense that the focus is truly all about the food as chefs prepare a menu of sumptuous dishes in clear view of diners.
Hey, if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, you already know how rare it is to open a menu that’s full of options for you. Instead of settling for the side salad or asking for a laundry list of substitutions, you can choose from an incredibly wide selection of plant-based, cruelty-free cuisine. And if you’re phasing gluten out of your diet — whether you have an allergy or just want to cleanse your system — you don’t have to worry about triple-checking the ingredient list or hoping the kitchen staff didn’t slip up.
I was particularly impressed by the employees, who are very obviously committed to keeping our planet and bodies as pure as possible. They stress the anti-inflammatory and life-prolonging benefits of their original, made-from-scratch drinks and dishes. By fusing a plethora of different cuisines and culinary trends into their menu items, the True Food Kitchen chefs are able to incorporate unexpected mixtures of nutritious, organic, and locally grown ingredients.
Whether you’re a health-conscious diner or just a foodie who wants to try new things, it’s hard not to be amazed by how healthy, fresh, and flavorful each ingredient really is. That includes herbs, vegetables, fruits, oats, and grains that were carefully chosen to make your mouth water and your body stronger.
The Lenox Square location is the latest in a lineup of successful branches. Lucky diners already enjoy True Food Kitchen’s healthy, delicious cuisine in California, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. And now that Atlantan’s have a healthy alternative to common-place cuisine, let’s only hope there’s more to come.
True Food Kitchen is located at 3393 Peachtree Rd. NE, Suite 3058B at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta.
